It’s not working exactly as it’s supposed to. My husband slipped through the cracks this week. Employees of Medicare, TriCare and the Veterans Administration all tried their level best to prevent him from having a caregiver while I get surgery for cancer. They had me jumping through hoops all week, and each time I got close to lining up care, they pulled the rug out. I had some non-profits trying to help me navigate the system, but there was a government agent at every turn to put up road blocks. After looking into our situation, they all agreed the only way he’d qualify for a caregiver is if I put him in hospice, imposed a DNR on him, and took away all of his medicines which aren’t palliative in nature.
Then a rogue social worker at a different VA center stepped in, and got him admitted to a VA nursing home, without the pro-death requirements. That is not how obamacare is supposed to work. He was supposed to take the pill and die.
Here’s hoping obamacare never does work as intended.

She is 62..she had her last colonoscopy 7 years ago(I told my friend she should have gotten it after 4 years) she is experiencing symptoms, pain on the right side and her stomach is bloated so her doctor told her she needs a colonoscopy bad, he told her this MONTHS ago but Brotman Hospital(Where he works) has NO room for her, no bed available..its a crappy hospital but its where he works so she has no choice but to wait..we are in Los Angeles, illegal alien capital of the world
Really? It's supposed to cover you for multiple by-pass heart surgery and then deny coverage for vital post-op procedures?

She was supposed to have it done on Tuesday but it was postponed(AGAIN) for another week, so will see what happens on Tuesday. Hope they dont find anything bad in her colon. My Dad had the same symptoms(Right side pain) the cancer had already gone to his liver(This was back in 1998) he lived for 1 year with the disease. Getting a colonoscopy is no big deal, just drinking the stuff to make you go is the hard part the rest is super easy

Always have polyps...know the drill well..plan to make sure my next one is before I hit Medicare age...for obvious reasons.
I had mine two years ago, was a struggle since I suffer from colon issues, just took longer than usual but it was worth it..colon cancer is easily treatable when found early
The union folks have a huge tax on their health care benefits coming up.
