Race will cause the American republic’s complete destruction. Either the Left will succeed in its decades-old campaign of preying on “white guilt” to impose a socialist dictatorship on the U.S., or there will be a backlash that will make the George Wallace phenomenon of the 1960s seem mild. Either way, the limited central government that America’s founding generation established to maximize individual liberty will be gone. As Ronald Reagan knew, once freedom is lost, it may never be recovered.
After a rash of race riots coupled with leftists’ growing demands that local police powers be assumed by the federal government, I am increasingly pessimistic about America’s future.
Remember Barack Obama’s 2008 call for a “civilian national security force” that would be as strong and well funded as the military? Is that where the U.S. is headed? Were Obama or, more likely, some future left-wing Democrat president able to create a “civilian national security force,” would the result be like Hitler’s Gestapo or Stalin’s NKVD?
With or without local officials’ connivance, the feds, through the Department of Justice, have already taken de facto control of police forces in Ferguson, MO, Baltimore, MD, Cleveland, OH, and several more. Will other local police forces be taken over as well?
The possibility that a backlash will engulf the nation is very slim. To succeed, a movement needs leadership with the charisma, will, and courage necessary to confront an increasingly politically correct political culture. No such leadership is evident.
The prospects of a race war leading to a socialist dictatorship are, alas, much greater.

No, they have just been cowed into submission - and just need to be kept in that state until their majority is gone (which is happening much more quickly than the media will ever admit). Pass any schoolyard or maternity ward, and you will see that 2020 is a much more likely date for that than the oft-repeated 2050...
Black radicals don’t want whites to die, they simply want them to pay for everything for blacks without question or input. Yesterday the Supreme Court indicated it felt the same way.
Many people see the problems with eradicating the confederate flag, but don’t like what it stands for either - so they’re not going to stick their neck out for it. I’m gravely opposed to censoring that flag, but neither will I put the symbol of treating this country apart to preserve slavery on my lawn.
Not sure what to do, but am very concerned about where it’s going.

A conservative administration could boldly curtail that behavior. Punish rioters who break the law.
And what we really need is a true conservative voice in the media. If Donald Trump really wanted to help America instead of just feed his rabid ego, then he would buy out a big news paper and become that conservative voice. One very successful conservative paper and others would follow as they see the profit in it.
Yeah, I thought that too for a while. Fact is preserving slavery was a big, if not only, factor prompting the Civil War. Put another way, it wasn’t NOT a significant factor.
That’s IF we get a conservative administration next, which is far from certain.

That’s pretty much the end goal of any left-based political ideology -
to get everything for free for yourself and your supporters,

Yes, and then a Civil War (you probably call it the War of Northern Aggression - I prefer War of Northern Victory) was fought, under that flag, in part to end slavery, and which, in fact, ultimately resulted in the end of slavery under the flag.
By contrast, the traitors who fought (and lost) under the Confederate flag were fighting for a cause that sought to protect slavery. Slavery under that flag ended only with the defeat of the flag and the cause it stood for.
Arguing that the two flags are similar with respect to slavery is pure ignorance.
I am quite aware of the South’s tenuous presence in the Union. That’s why the Confederate flag is popular down here: not as a defense of slavery/discrimination, but as a statement of “we may be part of the USA but we’re really not happy about some things”.
