Should We Impeach Chief Justice John Roberts?
the Nation ^ | 11/19/14 | William Greider

Posted on 06/25/2015 12:47:06 PM PDT by illiac

Republicans like to talk about impeaching President Obama, but there is a far more deserving candidate for impeachment—Chief Justice John Roberts of the Supreme Court. While the Republicans in Congress have blocked Democrats from enacting much of substance, the GOP majority in control of the Court has been effectively legislating on its own, following an agenda neatly aligned with their conservative party. Step by step, the five right-wing justices are transforming the terms of the American political system—including the Constitution.

They empowered “dark money” in politics and produced the $4 billion by-election of 2014. They assigned spiritual values to soulless corporations who thus gained First Amendment protection of free speech and religion. The justices effectively gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965, even as they allowed state governments to create new obstacles for minority voting. The High Court made it okay to take guns to church and more difficult to keep guns from dangerous people. It rendered a series of decisions that collectively shifted political power from the many to the few.

This power grab by the unelected—and supposedly non-partisan—justices has already produced a historic rewrite of America democracy. But it was done by blatantly usurping the decision-making authority that belongs to the elected government in Congress and the executive branch. The Republican justices are not finished with their undeclared revolution. They will continue unless and until people rise up and stop them.

Same here.

If his decisions don’t comply with the law, and I don’t believe they do, he should be removed for judicial misconduct.

He doesn’t have any right at all to effectively legislate from the bench.

If he doesn’t know this, he’s unfit to serve.

The real question is should “we” impeach and remove Chief Justice Roberts from the bench? Yes we should imo. But the problem is that the corrupt, RINO-controlled Senate will probably not remove Roberts from office even if the House impeaches him.

The 17th Amendment needs to disappear, along with corrupt senators and likewise corrupt justices.

“Washington DC is populated, nearly exclusively, by traitors.”

I’m going to go a step further and say:

Washington DC is populated, nearly exclusively, by self-absorbed, crony capitalist, progressive-moonbat traitors.

Saying their just “traitors” implies they have loyalties to a different nation. Like spies. Or something.

First all, he’s not getting impeached (and removed, impeachment is only step 1) any more than Obama is getting impeached and removed. Now is not the time for silly fantasy. Now is the time for getting a good Republican elected President so we can repeal this law.

Second of all, impeaching and removing ANY judge while Obama is the one who gets to appoint a replacement would be extremely moronic.

When we next have a conservative President I hope Roberts has a health scare (AIDS? Some people insist he’s queer cause of some photograph, I don’t get it) that forces him to retire. Until then I hope for his well being because his replacement would be awful and the fight in the Senate over the confirmation would be awful. We have 4 justices that vote wrong on ALMOST EVERYTHING, we cannot afford a 5th. Take every 5-4 decision where Roberts and Kennedy voted the right way and reverse them, not good.

For his second act of atonement Roberts has moved up a notch. He no longer gets to smell Obama’s ass, he now gets to lick it. He’s really a disgusting wretch. I’m absolutely convinced that he kisses Obama’s ass to avoid any semblance of being vindictive in consequence of then Senators Obama and Biden voting against his confirmation. He’s about as vile a human being as you could find. And just wait until he gets those editorials from leftist rags “praising how much he’s grown;” i.e., how progressive he’s become. I’m telling you, he’ll be having nocturnal emissions. What a low life unprincipled piece of human vermin.

Just another example of why we need term limits at all 3 elected and appointed levels.
1term of 6 years for pres. 3 terms with 3 years for congress and 2 terms of 6 for senate.
Also we need a quick way of removing any any civil servant when misconduct is shown, to include withholding evidence.
