How about later day KKK leader Robert “Sheets” Byrd? Plenty of public places named after that Democrat dirt bag. I don’t see anybody in the Surrender Party suggesting those place names be changed.

It would do well for these idiot democrats to look up the real history of General Forrest and his relationship with the KKK...At the time Forrest was the leader of the Klan, their purpose was NOT racial...They were supporting southerners who were being victimized and basically robbed by “carpetbaggers” from the north who came south after the war to take advantage of the defeated people.

When the Klan turned to racial violence he resigned.

REAL history....

Six college students founded the Ku Klux Klan between December 1865 and the summer of 1866 in the town of Pulaski, Tennessee. Former Confederate officers, the six young men organized as a social club or fraternity and spent their time in horseplay of various types, including wearing disguises and galloping about town after dark. They were surprised to learn that their nightly appearances were causing fear. They quickly took advantage of this effect and the group began a rapid expansion.

The Klan harassed, intimidated and even killed Northern teachers, judges, politicians and “carpetbaggers” of all ilk. By late 1867, the movement had spread throughout the small towns of the South, though it did not take hold in urban areas, perhaps because at that time the cities were not suffering the economic hardships of rural regions. Klansmen began waging guerilla warfare against what they perceived as a corrupt system depriving them of rights.

There must be tens of millions of “Americans” wanting “Shariah law” even if they don’t know what it entails.

Forrest is far better than the people of TN routinely elect now.

I’m pretty sure these TN legislators have no guts, or in any other state for that matter.

Forrest is far better than the people of TN routinely elect now.

Both houses at state level are now GOP majority. Generally the further east you go in Tennessee the more Conservative. US Congress we have a few GOP wishy washy GOP like Fleischmann who seems to basically follow Corker's lead. But we do have John Jimmy Duncan Jr a solid Conservative Congressman on just about everything. I wish he would step up for the next Senate race.

US Senate wise? I'm 57 and we have as of yet to send a Conservative Senator to DC in my lifetime. That list of non Conservatives would including Frist, Fred {Don't name names} Thompson, Howard Baker, Alexander, Corker, and others in the GOP as well. If it weren't for former governor Pardon Me Ray Blanton, Alexander may not have even been elected as governor. Compared to Blanton he looked better.
