Do I agree with Amazon and Walmart on this? No. But I understand it. It’s capitolism 101. If it’s bad for business, get rid of it.

Well.... a massive *surge* in sales (as reported) isn't BAD for business, anywhere but bizarro-world. This is a *politically manufactured* problem with certain politically-acceptable responses available to these retailers and manufacturers - sales and profits be damned. Nothing could be further from the basics of capitalism.

They did dump it and so did Amazon a few hours after I ordered the three flags. I just looked and my order is still “preparing for shipment”. Since I have Amazon Prime, it's due to be at my house by 8 pm tomorrow.

Maybe Amazon is voting on whether to send me my three flags, or not. :o) Perhaps the NSA is deciding whether I am a domestic terrorist since I ordered those three flags. :o) So, tomorrow I'll see if UPS delivers the flags or the NSA shows up on my front steps. Suppose I need to have a lawyer on speed dial. :o)

If we are going to ban the Confederate Flag as a symbol of slavery, then to be consistent, we have to ban the Stars and Stripes too.

It flew over slavery and slave transporting ships for much, much longer than any flag of the Confederacy. If the logic is that the flag flew over slave-owning lands, then the Stars and Stripes has to go, as well.

Heck, even the Ku Klux Klan flew the Stars and Stripes in their rallies...



If we go down that road, we will continue to be lopsided in our views, unaware of our own history.


So What's next? Are they going to take down the Flag of the United States too?

By capitulating because an evil nutjob like Dylann Roof slaughtered 9 innocent black Christians, aren't we providing incentive for the next nutjob to do something similar?

Very true. The Emancipation Proclamation allowed slaveholders to keep holding slaves in slave states which remained in the Union. Like Maryland.

Nazi’s ran the concentration camps and killed so many, how can Amazon determine that the Confederate flag is too evil to sell, but not this one?
