A West Point cadet was found guilty Tuesday of possessing a trove of violent child pornography in his dorm room at the storied military academy.
Patrick Hester, 25, was taken into custody following the verdict in U.S. District Court in White Plains because the videos “depicted children being tortured,” Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said. “In collecting and sharing these appalling videos, he contributed to the victimization of the most vulnerable members of our society, our children.”
More than 1,200 images and videos were seized from Hester’s dorm room in December 2013. Hester told fellow pervs in emails he preferred boys ages 4 to 10, prosecutors said.

In the photo he was wearing his class ring. That would make him at least a junior, when the photo was taken. Around 21 yo. The incident happen in 2013, which would put him around 23.
But I thought those with this inclination are exempt from any moral rules or criticism whatsoever — how judgmental!
The other cadets in his room may be in trouble too. Their code does not permit them to be silent under circumstances like that.

I think you may want to clarify your statement. It sounds as though you're overly concerned about Hester's personal and family disgrace.
This man is way beyond sick. He is deeply involved in evil. From post #20, he volunteered to work with children at his church. He was a predator just waiting to strike.

Hester admitted his dark obsessions when questioned in his dorm room at West Point by agents of Homeland Security.
He’s been released on $50K bail. Hester was arrested Dec. 19th. His next court appearance is Jan. 15 in White Plains Federal Court, New York.

It used to be that the family had a stake in a child’s adult behavior. The family would “police its own”. The family would be disgraced, and would lose wealth and position, along with the child. They used to say that it was a gentleman’s duty to pay the debts of their siblings, children, and parents. I say this person’s family should be held responsible along with him. Maybe in the future, the families of criminals will intercede before it is too late.
