If I were a military strategist, I would prepare against an attack on our country soon after the next election. I would imagine that our adversaries’ strategists are surmising that the U.S. cannot possibly get any worse/weaker than after 8 years of the BO administration at the helm. Our country’s defenses would still be close to the way BO left them at the time. If there were a good time to attack, it’s not going to get any better in the years following BO’s exit.
I suspect that this is the same sort of calculus that went into the timing of 9/11 after 8 years of Clinton emasculating the U.S. military. That is, we were only going to strengthen our economic, military, and foreign policy after its nadir in 2000.
So, much like Soldiers standing watch at dawn, I would be prepared again in 2017.
I’m not asking for a preemptive strike or anything, just a heightened state of attention and awareness. Why not be ready? How do you think the Chinese or the Russians see the coming transition? Wouldn’t an attack DURING the transition be even more devastating? The next chance to hit us at this weak point might be years away, or never again.

FDR’s international weakness and America malaise after so many years of declining morale certainly led to Pearl Harbor. Still, anyone who attacks post nobama better max it out, otherwise America has a habit of waking up really pissed off.
I think the original time set for the attack on the US was in May 12, 2001 , exactly 7 months after the bombing of the USS Cole and before many of Bush’s appointees had been confirmed by congress due to the delayed transition of the Gore War in Floriduh. But the pilots were not yet up to snuff so it was delayed.
