“what will they blame when there aren’t any more Confederate flags flying around provoking people?”
Guns and white males.
>> Then theyll need to change the University of Mississippi mascot <<
You’re way behind the times. Colonel Rebel was banned at Ole Miss several years ago, and the Teddy Bear (thanks to Teddy Roosevelt) became the new mascot.
Boy oh boy. You got something there.
What Statehouse has the Mexican flag in front of it?
My FRiend, it is not the slaves they are after, it is ALL of our private property. However, they know that to get to our property, they have to free our rightfully owned slaves first. Then, once slavery has been abolished, next on the list will be our houses, and our land. This will continue until every iota of private property is eliminated. This is their goal. They pick the low hanging fruit first and then go the next lowest.
There, fixed it for you. You now have your talking points for 1860.
They still call them the Rebels.
Yes, of course. The Ole Miss TEAM is still called the Rebels.
But your post referred not to the team. Rather, it referred to the MASCOT.
And the mascot is no longer that harmless old Colonel Rebel. The mascot has been a bear for maybe three or four years now.
(The reason a bear was selected apparently was that the original "Teddy Bear" was a cub Theodore Roosevelt had refused to shoot on his 1902 hunting trip to the Mississippi Delta. In other words, the Teddy Bear is supposed to hold some mystical significance for the state of Mississippi. The rejection of Colonel Rebel and the corresponding selection of the bear was an overarchingly stupid decision on the part of the University's Chancellor and its athletic department, if I may say so.)
Yeah, I knew “Colonel Reb” was gone. I now wonder how long before they’ll stop using the term rebel. Of course, the folks at Ole Miss could say they’re honoring the REAL rebels who rebelled against England.
