Pope: 'Weapon Makers Are Not Christians'
Sky News ^ | June 22, 2015

Pope Francis has said people who make weapons or invest in arms industries are hypocrites if they call themselves Christians.

"If you trust only men you have lost," he said to applause during a speech about war, money and politics.

"It makes me think of ... people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn't it?"

Francis also spoke about bloodshed in the Second World War, saying: "The great powers had the pictures of the railway lines that brought the trains to the concentration camps like Auschwitz to kill Jews, Christians, homosexuals, everybody.

"Why didn't they bomb (the railway lines)?"

He also decried the deaths of Christians in Russian gulags under the Stalin dictatorship, which followed the war.

Discussing World War One, he spoke of "the great tragedy of Armenia" but did not use the word "genocide".

Francis reiterated his view that conflicts in the world today are tantamount to "a Third World War in segments".

I think the Pope is gaga. I used to think he had a grand plan to destroy the Church, at least in part by making it look trivial, self-contradictory and ridiculous through his statements. However, now I honestly think he just opens his mouth and not even he knows what will come out.

It’s okay for governments to be armed, just not the people.

And then he said he was upset that these evil weapon-owning countries didn’t bomb Germany over Auschwitz.

He’s an intellectual lightweight.

Use of deadly force in self-defense is moral. Surprised the pope doesn’t know this, since it’s official Catholic doctrine.

Back around 1970. the then pope threw out a few of the patron saints. is Francis giving THESE the heave-ho?

Is this a downgrade for the Patron Saints ....

St Erasmus, Ammo makers and ordinance workers http://www.frfrogspad.com/steramus.htm

St Dunstan, Armorers and gunsmiths. http://www.frfrogspad.com/dunstan.htm

St Sebastian, Archers, armorers metal workers and police http://www.frfrogspad.com/stseb.htm

I used to think he had a grand plan...(for the Church)...making it look trivial, self-contradictory and ridiculous through his statements.

Well, he has succeeded in that.

He needs to go back to sprinkling Holy Water and recommending long-dead martyrs for saint hood.

When it comes to weapons manufacture and distribution, well, somebody’s got to do it.

And if Christians weren’t going to do it, then it would all be left up to the World of “peaceful” Islam to take up the slack.

Not that they are far behind the Christians in this enterprise.

If Christians are making the weapons, there is SOME little control over to whom they are distributed.

Pope Francis is fast becoming the Jimmy Carter of Popes.

That is simply a nice way of saying the truth.

The man is a moron.

I think most here would be extremely proud to own a firearms collection 1/10 as large as the Pope's!

By the evidence available, not just imagery, I could easily counter that THIS pope is not a Christian.
