Nothing much. Minor communication interruption, aurora further south.

That’s about it. But the biggest of these 3 were an M-Class. Which is minor.

Compared to the Carrington event in 1859, well a candle to the sun. The Carrington event produced Aurora’s strong enough to make those in the Southern United States to think it was day, in the middle of the night. As far south as Florida. Telegraphs were knocked out world wide, some operators claimed that their reel’s caught fire (but I highly doubt it, perhaps from electrical shorts from the flare, but not the flare itself).

This is zilch, compared to that. Most equipment is protected against Solar Flares these days. You would need a very very strong Solar Flare to cause any real damage. Such as a world wide blackout of all communication and electrical systems. Which is possible. But Sol is not a likely candidate of producing such, however a massive Supernovae somewhere in our galaxy, very well could.

Don’t know what the effects will be. They said the flare was an M2-class. So it shouldn’t be too bad at all, unless we have very weak flux lines over us now (holes in the field due to the recently accelerating magnetic field shift and possible future flip). A CME from an X-class flare would be more interesting.

This one is a direct hit, however I don't expect much in the way of damage. We probably will have significant geomagnetic storms. If you subscribe to the theory of the electric universe, then we will also see an uptick in larger earthquakes.

I never want to see a direct X-class flare. Paging Richard Carrington and reliving 1859 all over again and personal.

Not even that interesting. We’ve had quite a few X-class flares without most of us even knowing it.

A CME from an X17.2-class flare hit us on 28 October 2003. And as you can see, the human race is extinct. The earth is a barren rock with no atmosphere.

We have not had a "direct" X-class flair on our modern electrical and telecommunications systems.

We have only had glancing blows.

Maybe we will know more with 2371.

I don't--not, unless a CME can be strong enough to move the core and mantle. I doubt it. But when the magnetic field moves more, so do the outer core (liquid) and mantle (liquid to mushy to fairly stiff). The magnetic field has move quite a distance over the past couple of decades. When it moves like that, it also wiggles around more. That might be bringing more seismic activity and volcanism.
