NEW YORK Ride-hailing app company Uber says it is banning its riders and drivers from carrying guns.
Uber Technologies says it is banning firearms of any kind during rides arranged through the Uber platform, and drivers or riders who violate the rule may lose access to the platform. The rules also apply to Uber's affiliates.
The company says it changed its firearms policy on June 10 based on feedback from riders and drivers. Previously it had deferred to local law on the issue.
Competitor Lyft also has a "no weapons" policy. According to Lyft's website, if a driver or rider is found to have a weapon in a Lyft vehicle they'll be barred from the platform regardless of local laws on weapons possession.
What if the driver is a rape-able woman?
Do Uber and Lyft also require passengers to sign a declaration of fealty to LGBT causes; or is that coming next?
If you mean that the cop will be providing protection, that is not enough. People carry weapons for reasons other than self-defense. To and from a range, for example.
For thugs and thieves, Uber just became like ordering pizza delivery: “Hello, Uber? Please send an unarmed taxi driver to this address with a pocket full of cash. Thank you!”
I went to the ATM yesterday morning, (yes, it was Chase, the number one NWO sychophant bank but it is where I have my business account, not sure why).
Anyhow, I pull up, get out my card and am greeted by a big message on the screen that says something like, "Embrace our differences--June xx-Junexx id National LGBT week"
Frikking A---leave me alone with this crap. I am so DONE with it. I don't give a crap about your gender confusion, your homosexuality, your pot smoking ways, your abortion stance, your skin color, your birth control needs, ...tired of it all.
I am 100% serious when I say, I am getting my kids through school and god willing, I am out of here to a small village on the Adriatric Sea. Where kids still play kick ball, people eat real food, families can still be families and even though they have an over bearing government they've had it so long everyone knows to just ignore it and live life.
If true, no Uber or Lyft for me.

Poor drivers, this will be open season them.
“San Francisco-based Uber” There’s the problem, right there. (from a different article on this subject)
Fools.
Well now robbers and murderers know that uber drivers are easy prey.
wow
Don’t bring a gun, Uber Alles.
And just how is Uber going to monitor this, huh?
Hmmm...
This is Kehoe ride share. All of our associates are armed. Please feel free to bring your favorite weapon for a hassle and danger free ride through Detroit MI and Gary IN..

Look a this (from another article)
“In April, an Uber driver with a concealed-carry permit shot a 22-year-old man who had opened fire on a group of pedestrians in Chicago. Court records say the man was shooting at pedestrians who were walking in front of the Uber driver’s vehicle, and the driver shot the gunman. The driver wasn’t charged, as prosecutors said he acted in defense of himself and others.”
Tired of it. Can't bake cakes, won't bake cakes, sued because you won't bake a cake, closed down cause you won't bake a cake, now I'll only bake cakes for star bellied sneetches. It's all getting so ridiculous. It's comical.
No, they are not banning riders or drivers from carrying guns. They are simply banning riders and drivers who care about their rules from carrying guns.
The first time that someone gets shot by a rider or driver carrying a gun I hope the victim sues Uber into bankruptcy for fraudulently claiming that they are banning anyone from carrying a gun.
Uber doesn’t lose much by taking this stance, especially because their main competitor, Lyft, did it first.. Uber cars are unlabeled, so the gun-free zone is not advertised. Uber drivers don’t take cash, so they would probably be wise not to carry an at all. This makes drivers more vulnerable to violent crime, but apparently most don’t care.
Hence, this is basically a policy against open carry, which would probably be enforced by the sociology majors driving taxis. Not explicitly, but by giving you a lower rating. (Uber drivers rate you just like you rate them.)
I wonder if they make exception for LEOs If not, they’re unnecessarily creating ill will among law enforcement.
Nah, the ATM.
The country is changing rapidly.
When a company (uber) does something like this, to me, it's just showing their colors--or like paying protection money, right? Look, we are on the "right side" of the issues so leave us alone.
Anyhow, I read this just after I was talking about to my 17 year old daughter about the Chase thing, I was trying to her to see that it's not about acceptance. It's about changing the fabric of the country and brainwashing. Using fear and group think to make anyone not dare challenge. Tearing down the old to rebuild a Brave New World.
So, I was already frustrated before I read this. (:
