Probably the truth. There’s no way FEMA can publicly agree to this nonsense. However, under the table, behind closed doors, smokey back rooms - they’ll work something out. A government that can pay reparations to “farmers” who never farmed can easily pay damage costs caused by Obama voters.

Not so fast. Get a load of this from the article:

We’re told we have 30 days to appeal,” he said. “We’re working with the federal delegation and Obama administration officials to assess what we might do to become eligible for reimbursement.”

I would be willing to bet the appeal will be successful

That was my first thought without reading the article. Dollars to donuts they'll release the flood of Federal dollars no matter what the FEMA regulations say.

Last time I checked riots are not considered an “emergency”...or a natural disaster...

Especially one of your own making...

i’m guessing that FEMA’s current refusal may reflect the Dems frustration that after O’Malley left Maryland, there is now a Republican governor there, Larry Hogan. would this admin pass up the opportunity to stick it to the repubs?

I get the feeling, being an unalloyed cynic, that this is more for public consumption and this administration will find a back-door way to funnel billions to Baltimore. When did due process and lawful channels ever stop them?( ie, “Fast & Furious”?)

That’s a very good analysis. It could be politics as usual. If it’s a disaster in a state with a blue Governor, the Government is all wallet. If it’s a disaster in a state with a red Governor - “embrace the suck.”

“We’re told we have 30 days to appeal,” he said. “We’re working with the federal delegation and Obama administration officials to assess what we might do to become eligible for reimbursement gouge the taxpayers even though we abandoned our duty and enabled the riots to go on and on. Now we want to highjack the treasury.”

Fixed it.
