Hillary on Charleston: Inflammatory political rhetoric like Trump’s

Via Breitbart, Trump’s merely a target of opportunity. You know who the real target is. It’s the same target as always.

Last night Clinton told host John Ralston, “We have to have a candid national conversation about race, and about discrimination, prejudice, hatred. The people who do this kind of dastardly, horrible act are a very small percentage. But unfortunately public discourse is sometimes hotter and more negative than it should be, which can, in my opinion, trigger people who is less than stable to do something like this.”

Clinton continued, “I think we have to speak out against it. Like, for example, a recent entry into the Republican presidential campaign said some very inflammatory things about Mexicans. Everybody should stand up and say that’s not acceptable. You know you don’t talk like that on talk radio. You dont talk like that on the kind of political campaigns. I think he is emblematic. So I want people to understand, it’s not just him, it’s about everybody. The second thing is guns. Let’s just cut to the chase – it’s guns.”

And just like that we’re back to the dregs of the aftermath of the Tucson shooting in 2011, when the sleaziest demagogues on the left convinced most of the media based on no evidence whatsoever that Jared Loughner must have been driven to shoot Gabby Giffords because of the tea party or Glenn Beck or a map in one of Sarah Palin’s political ads or whatever. In reality Loughner was a nut who seems to have fixated on Giffords when he attended one of her local events and she didn’t give a satisfactory answer to his nutball question, “What is government if words have no meaning?” The amount of evidence that Dylann Roof was motivated by anything more mainstream than fringe white-supremacist rhetoric of the Stormfront variety also currently stands at zero; the fact that lefties haven’t insisted otherwise this time (with some notable exceptions) shows that at least some of them have been chastened by the rush to judgment after Tucson. In fact, the reason I think there’s so much chatter online about Roof’s Confederate-flag license plate today is that it’s the most mainstream piece of political rhetoric that he can actually be tied to. Four years ago the left would have simply assumed he was a Rush Limbaugh fanboy and been done with it.

Not their nominee-in-waiting, though. Hillary’s defining characteristic is shamelessness, her willingness to cross lines that liberals with more of a conscience won’t. So here she is using Trump’s remarks this week about Mexicans as a pretext to attack her old enemies in “talk radio” as well as the entire GOP field, of whom Trump is merely “emblematic” even though every Republican running this year supports granting illegal immigrants legal status if not citizenship. This is nothing more than her way of begging Latinos for their support knowing that Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio could complicate the Democratic stranglehold on that demographic. With Hillary, even accusing your opponents of being de facto accomplices to murder is something that can only be motivated by self-interest. And of course, she learned from the master: This tactic is straight out of Bill Clinton’s playbook after Oklahoma City, demagoging the GOP as militiamen in order to goose his own fading political support. This is the caliber of person Democrats want us to elect next year, because this is the caliber of person Democrats have elected before. Enjoy the next five years.

...the Republican presidential campaign said some very inflammatory things about Mexicans...”

He did? The left again making race an issue, even if it is dishonest vis-a-vis Harry “Lying-is-okay-if-you-achieve-your-goal” Reid.

If Shrill is not careful she’s going to trigger a war with The Donald. Poor idea. Ask Rosie. :-)

The only such conversation permitted is one in which the Left lectures the right then puts the right in jail.

[Inflammatory political rhetoric like Trump’s]

It is refreshing to hear Trump (and Ted Cruz) address the truth without worrying about the ‘PC police.’ Truth can hurt, but once it is revealed, it’s up to U.S. to rectify the problem.

Hilary is filled with irony:

“We are also supporting the development of new tools that enable citizens to exercise their rights of free expression by circumventing politically motivated censorship.”
~Hillary Clinton

“I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigration.”
~Hillary Clinton

“We have to have a candid national conversation about race, and about discrimination, prejudice, hatred.”

We had that candid conversation. We call it The Civil War. it doesn’t get any more candid than that.

" even though every Republican running this year supports granting illegal immigrants legal status if not citizenship"

Why would the pundit include that lie in an otherwise good article?

I suspect he does not want to draw a difference between Trump and the rest of the GOP field.

I hope that Hillary Clinton keeps talking like that! Even the low information voters will start to question her qualifications and suitability for public office.
