Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush — a fluent Spanish speaker — told ABC "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir in Spanish Wednesday that he and his wife, Columba, speak "more Spanish than English at home."
"Our grandkids, almost all of them speak Spanish, two of them also speak a little Arabic," the former Florida governor added in Spanish.
Columba Bush, Florida's former first lady, was born and raised in Mexico. The pair fell in love when Jeb, then 17, studied abroad in León, Mexico.
Here’s a translation of Muir and Bush's conversation en Español -- which also touched on immigration reform:
MUIR: Si usted es electo presidente, en los primeros cien días cúal sera su primera prioridad? If you are elected President what will be your highest priority during your first 100 days?
BUSH: The most important thing is to improve the political climate in Washington and to start to work across party lines. Re-establish relations between Democrats and Republicans. Second it is important to have people in positions of power in the executive branch who will work to better the situation in each branch/department. And then formulate plans with congress — a plan for immigration reform, an energy plan for the country, a plan for tax reform. And change the mentality that Washington has to be (has to have) the solution for everything. We've seen that fail.

I fail to see how speaking Spanish by a guy who has grown up with a silver spoon in his hand is so much better than Cruz or Rubio whose parents escaped from a Cuban dictator. The LSM really must be scared of those two guys, there is no other explanation!

The most important thing is to restore honesty and integrity to government. Working across party lines is a sure recipe for more of the same corruption. You can't compromise with evil and expect a good result. All you get is more evil.
We need to restore standards and that standard is the Constitution. Working across Party lines will continue to destroy the very standard our Founding Fathers set up.
Jeb! is just another pandering, soulless politician seeking a place at the federal trough.
Given that he's running for President of the US and not Mexico, by answering the ABC reporter in Spanish and bragging that Spanish is the primary language used in his home, the Quisling MADE IT A STORY!
Do you think a Presidential candidate in Mexico would survive a public boast on Mexican TV in English that English is the primary language used in his home?

Nothing. It's a calculated political move.
He know's he's angering the base with his Hispanic outreach but he's done the math and believes he'll gain more Hispanic voters than he'll lose conservative voters. After all, come election day, many of the conservatives he's upset are going to fall into line, hold their nose and vote for him.
Whether or not this strategy pays off waits to be seen. In the meantime, expect to hear a lot of Spanish out of Bush's mouth.
The Arabic should come in handy.
