What a pope!
He decides to make 'climate control' the centerpiece of his papacy. If he wants to save humanity then preach how to achieve salvation!!

Why can’t the Church just handle the CO2 permiting process? It’s very similar to an indulgence.

Perhaps the church will start charging carbon credits for the sacraments and absolution of sins? That’s next.

Global warming is an Anti-Christian religious cult that worships the creation rather than the creator.
They now have a Pope.

As Pope shouldn’t he encourage us to solve the problem with prayer? Unless he doesnt believe prayer would help.

Carbon fuels are essential for the production of reliable cheap electricity. Green energy sources are niche providers at best. Without reliable cheap electricity there is miserable poverty, political instability, famine and suppression. A cutback of as little as 10% of carbon usage would be disastrous for the poor. Sadly this Pope is a socialist and simply does not understand productive capitalism. He really is authoritative from a Catholic perspective on theological issues.

A cis-national useful idiot with un-deserved official gravitas. BRILLIANT! ( I do have to admire the dedication and patience of the communist cabal!)

You must remember that the Pope is elected by the College of Cardinals. As with other Colleges, this one was lacking common sense, self dicipline and conservative values. How is the result then a surprise. I am furious with this Marxist Papa and I am a Catholic.

Duh.
Why do you think we are getting railroaded into losing our sovereignty?
Clearly, it has BEEN DECIDED, by some pack of refugees from the Ivys or another.

Posted this thought on another thread: How about Pope Francis spends money and energy hiring mercenaries to protect Christian settlements that are being decimated by ISIS?
I don't follow any organized religion. But as far as Popes go, one usually knows what their vision is for Christians and the Church. Pope Francis is all over the place.

If he really thinks that God can’t govern His creation, he lacks faith and trust in God’s power and wisdom. “He upholds all things by the Word of His power,” the Scripture states.
The same almighty God who set the universe in place will preserve it until the Day of Jesus Christ.

Humanity isn’t saved by liberal policy
and the earth isn’t in need of being saved by humans,
and more to the point,
you gain NO righteousness for believing EITHER of the above items.

All I'll say is that his predecessor wrote an encyclical which everyone in the English language press said was a clarion call for a global banking and finance authority.
But it actually said nothing of the kind.
We'll see what the official Latin text of this encyclical actually says.
