Chief: 3 cops fired shots when Texas biker shooting erupted

WACO, Texas (AP) — Texas officers responding to a deadly melee outside a biker gathering in Waco had disabled their automatic rifles so the weapons couldn't fire more than one round per trigger pull, the city's police department said Friday, countering witnesses who said they heard what sounded like gunfire from automatic weapons.

Only three of the nearly two dozen officers outside the Twin Peaks restaurant fired their weapons, shooting a total of 12 bullets, after gunfire erupted following a dispute between two rival biker gangs, according to Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman and statements released by his office. The officers were staged outside the restaurant on May 17, in anticipation of a large meeting of biker groups.

"We did not fire indiscriminately into the crowd. Our officers were restrained," Stroman said during a news conference Friday in Waco.

Stroman said Friday that investigators collected 44 shell casings from the scene. Police also said that 151 firearms were among the hundreds of weapons recovered from the scene that included knives, brass knuckles, tomahawks, bats, a machete and a chain. Some weapons were stashed in between bags of flour in the restaurant's kitchen, while others were recovered with metal detectors, found buried under grass, police said.

I don’t know how the cops were placed but a visible presence is usually what they do to. This is starting to get pretty old.

And three Waco PD cops fired 4 shots each.

So 44 casings recovered with no pistol revolver rounds counted as of yet.

Because wheel guns don't eject their cases. We don't know what the mix of rifle and semi auto pistol cases are.

“disabled their automatic rifles so the weapons couldn’t fire more than one round per trigger pull”

Great reporting.

Yeah, but what other agencies are non law enforcement agencies?

I think the chief is being evasive here.

So the police intended to kill 12 people while firing into a crowd and using suppressed weapons.
9 people were killed and 18 wounded.
But, the bikers fired at least 32 rounds from semi-autos and possibly more from revolvers that apparently weren’t counted as ‘shell casings.’

>>> at least 475weapons. This includes 151 firearms, 12 of which were long guns. <<<

Which means that the ‘long guns’ were recovered from vehicles as were a significant number of hand guns and played no part in the shootings.

There’s no information how many firearms (or other weapons) were being legally carried by individuals, or legally being transported in vehicles and not fired in the shootings.

It still looks to me like there’s a conscious intent to mislead by parsing and spinning the information, and it still stinks.

Already has begun with those criminal gangs, gangs of bed-wetting cowards that engage in violent crime crying and whining like little girls.

“Those Officers were stationed in the parking lots adjacent to the Twin Peaks and were visible to patrons entering the Twin Peaks parking lot. There were 6 marked Waco Police units and 4 unmarked Waco Police vehicles.”

Heck of a way to run an “ambush”.

Messrs. Parse and Stonewall did an excellent job on that official statement.

The ACLU is sniffing around this now. If they smell blood it’ll be national news.

So 44 casings recovered with no pistol rounds counted as of yet. Of the 44 12 are by the Waco PD. I hope I read that correctly. That would leave 32 rounds fired by other agencies.

They didn't say no pistol rounds, jut that the revolver rounds were still being counted (since they don't auto-eject). So the 32 rounds could be from other bikers, not other agencies.

Eighth: Why were so many Cossacks wearing Bandidos patches at a Bandidos meeting?

A bandidos meeting? Ma’am, you know better.

But please provide material to support the wearing the wrong patches claim.

“A bandidos meeting? Ma’am, you know better.”

Duh ... Bandidos members or Bandidos duck club members chair every CoC chapter in Texas. Clubs have to pay extortion fees to the CoC which goes right into the pockets of the Bandidos.

“But please provide material to support the wearing the wrong patches claim.”

Every photo of the Twin Peaks gang war.

Late, I know ... but ...

The officers were staged outside the restaurant on May 17, in anticipation of a large meeting of biker groups ... in the direct presence of at least FOUR marked police cars. These malcontents stared this public shootout with the cop cars right there in plain sight.

A minor detail, obviously, so the MSM forgot to mention it.

These guys came for a rumble in broad daylight, Sunday brunch, to have-it-out at a pre-publicized regular meeting of Harley riders clubs discussing legislation related to biking. In front of four cop cars. At a busy restaurant surrounded by busy restaurants and shopping venues.

And when the really shifty characters filled with hardened criminals who would wreak such reckless mayhem -- all 177 -- were arrested and sent to jail on million dollar bonds, it turned out only about a third even had an arrest record.

Simply mind boggling.

doubt all the cops were out standing around in plain view as that would probly violate stakeout procedure.

I read upthread in don-o's post of the police press release -- six marked police cars "assigned to the event" and "visible to patrons entering the Twin Peaks parking lot."

But these ignoramus dumb-ass hick stupid heavily armed and prepared biker thugs carried it out anyway! And weirder -- only a third even had prior records!

had disabled their automatic rifles so the weapons couldn’t fire more than one round per trigger pull

Why were they using automatic weapons anyway, and how do we know they were switched to single-shot? Cops have certainly been know to lie.
************************************************************************************************
Jeez, what ignorance these writers display. By “disabling” their automatic rifles, I’m assuming they mean the cops set their M-16 selector switch to semi-auto from “full” auto. Of course it takes a mere split second’s movement of the thumb to put it back to auto.
