Like the rest of America, the Nevada the GOP enjoyed a landslide victory last November. We won EVERYTHING. Governor, Lt. Governor, all five constitutional offices, the State Senate and the State Assembly. This is the first time the GOP has controlled all of those offices since the 1920s. The voters spoke loudly. They wanted smaller government, lower taxes and less spending. Not only that but a ballot referendum supporting a business margins tax on corporations was voted down by a 3 to 1 margin. THREE-TO-ONE. This was the anti-tax, anti-big government sweep of a lifetime. Historic. Revolutionary.

Uh, Wayne, there's more to NV than LV. Know what I'm sayin'. Most of the rest of us feel steamrolled too by the betrayal we've just seen now that the '15 session of the NV legislature is over. There were a few shining stars who were targeted and the gopE did their best to shut them down and for the most part succeeded. Looks like tick and his buddies will be lining up to retake control in '16. Doesn't seem to make any difference. Didn't we vote down the tax issue in '14 that has now been passed and signed? Are we becoming Cali-lite?

As a Minnesotan, I’ve been looking at what state I might want to retire in and get away from the socialism we have in our state. Nevada would be a perfect fit cause I have relatives there and I lived in Reno for four years when I was younger. After seeing this, I guess I’ll have to look elsewhere.

Check out Idaho. It’s not Nevada, but it’s nearby. Plus, the climate in some parts of the state would make you feel right at home. :^)

See the US Congressionally mandated thresholds(population etc) in the 1860s as to what area(s) could be granted statehood and The Nevada Territory never was CLOSE. Lincoln needed the Electoral Votes in the 1864 Presidential Election and MADE Nevada a State(Thus “Battle Born”).

I'm fine with Nevada being a state. I don't see a prolem there. But just in case, here are some stupid ideas to advance the stupid dialogue.

Indian reservation? Tortoise Habitat? Federal Prison? Land Fill? Military Base?
