Jeff Sessions Issues Final 'Critical Alert': Obamatrade Just Like Amnesty, Obamacare
Breitbart ^ | 11 Jun 2015 | MATTHEW BOYLE

Posted on 06/11/2015 5:30:41 PM PDT by xzins

Sessions’ final “critical alert,” one of several he’s issued throughout the Obamatrade process, shows House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)60% has been engaged in deception as he attempts to guide Obamatrade’s passage through the House.

“Promoters of fast-track executive authority have relied on semantic obfuscation in an effort to deny the obvious: the President’s top priority is obtaining fast-track authority because he knows it will expand his powers and allow him to cement his legacy through the formation of a new political and economic union,” Sessions said.

The authority granted in “Trade Promotion Authority” is authority transferred from Congress to the Executive and, ultimately, to international bureaucrats. The entire purpose of fast-track is for Congress to surrender its power to the Executive for six years. Legislative concessions include: control over the content of legislation, the power to fully consider that legislation on the floor, the power to keep debate open until Senate cloture is invoked, and the constitutional requirement that treaties receive a two-thirds vote. Legislation cannot even be amended.

“By contrast, without fast-track, Congress retains all of its legislative powers, individual members retain all of their procedural tools, and every single line, jot, and tittle of trade text is publicly available before any congressional action is taken,” Sessions said.

Another obfuscation is the suggestion that TPP doesn’t yet exist. To the contrary, it has been under negotiation for six years and lawmakers can enter a closed-door, walled-off chamber to review it.

“The so-called negotiating objectives in the fast-track bill are merely for show,” Nucor Steel chairman emeritus Dan DiMicco says, according to Sessions. “The President can and does sign the agreement before Congress views or votes on it.”

Sessions and Cruz are on opposite sides of this issue...It certainly undermines the sovereignty of the United States...

My experience is that there is lockstep conformity with republicans when someone says ‘free trade’.

We now have experience with so-called free trade. It’s free for the partners and very expensive for the USA.

It is getting worse by the revelation. Thank you Cruz, Rubio, and all but five of the Republican senators.

Everybody please light up the phone of your representative in the House.

House Switchboard Operator: 202-225-3121

Let them know voting for the TPA to give special powers to Obama is a complete deal breaker and you will not support any Republican if they vote for it. Or just general scream a lot, your choice.

SAMPLE EMAIL TO YOUR MEMBER OF THE HOUSE

I am not a brilliant writer, but I know many of us are busy. If you go to the link below and enter your zip it will show you your representative’s webpage.

http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/

Then click the link on their webpage that let’s you submit a comment to them.

Please leave them a message about your non-support for the TPA or you are welcome to use the letter I created below. Just copy and paste it and click Send. PLEASE PASS THIS ON OR EMAIL IT!! Time to get mad folks.

START EMAIL

I am contacting you because I believe any vote for the TPA would be a DISGUSTING betrayal of the American people. Republican leadership even calling for a vote is incomprehensible. This is what we volunteered for and donated for to get more Republican control of Congress??!!!!

In one breath Republicans tell us over and over again that Obama cannot be trusted. Then you and other leaders want to vote to give him Special Powers and take away powers from Congress to Obama’s benefit!!!

TPA takes the 2/3 vote for a treaty away from the Senate (Don’t tell me it’s not a treaty. We are already hearing this SECRET TPP is going to do FAR more than any trade bill ever has before).

TPA takes the 60-vote cloture away from the Senate to pass the TPP. Why would you give this to Obama??!!

Voting for the TPA takes away any member of Congress’ right to offer amendments to the TPP that Obama gets to negotiate in SECRET.

I could go on, but you get the point. It is INEXCUSABLE and UNACCEPTABLE for Republicans to support the TPA or even call for a vote. Any person voting for this disgusting legislation should never be allowed to stay in office, go to a higher office, or even not be reminded daily that they BETRAYED us.

This Obamatrade (TPA) is just like Obamacare and we will never forget this. Please do the decent thing and do not support a vote for the TPA. It is a complete betrayal of our country and what the Republican party claims to care about.

Disappointed with Cruz - if he weren’t running for POTUS, he’d be opposed to trade promotion authority (TPA), or “fast track.” But he thinks he *is* going to be the Prez, so he wants it. He may vote against the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), a separate trade bill, but both TPA and TPP are bad news for Americans.

If Cruz is not with Sessions on this then he is not worthy of support for the presidency. Sessions is head and shoulders above the rest. He seems to be the only one in Washington that is not owned by the elites. God bless Jeff Sessions. He keeps his sacred oath to the people.

I don’t. That’s why it’s best to contact all congressional representatives and make sure they are clear that a vote for TPA is a vote against the USA.

Of course Cruz is on the opposite side. The more you look at him, the more he looks like the globalist hustler he is.

Glenn Beck had Dave Brat on today and he went in the sealed hyperbaric chamber to read the text. He said he didn’t see anything in it that needed to be a secret. He’s a no vote.

Ok. So the hustler wants this authority that he will get the presidency and will thus have more power. So why does the president need more power? Pen and a cell phone not enough for TPA Cruz?

>>Do we know which of the Republican representatives plan to vote for this?<<

Ted Poe (R), Kevin Brady (R) of Texas are both in support of the bill I know for certain. Both I also know sang Boehner’s praises before voting him back into leadership.

I've been giving Brady's office hell and will continue to give’m hell until the last minute.

For me, this could be the greatest thing since WD-40, but the lack of transparency kills it for me. If this bill is to be kept secret...they are up to no good.

It will kill home values in affluent areas and many homeowners won’t be able to sell homes to move. The war on those who work. Also shift democRAT voters into conservative districts.

It’s not just that. That’s also a payoff to some of his big money donors. Regardless of whether you support Cruz or not he should’ve been at every podium he could find, arm in arm with Jeff Sessions, and denouncing this agreement.
