It was that state's cost of ownership / taxes that drove the esteemed US Navy Vet to follow the common tax-avoidance strategy of keeping an asset away from the tax assessors & collectors! An amazing act of self-interest by a champion of larger government (driven by larger tax requirements!)

That’s a twin engine with a cabin. Its not that small. And its 20% of his after tax money. But I do agree, so far Rubio seems a lot like an upper middle class normal guy. If he weren’t in government jobs, he would be making far more as a lawyer.

The folks at the NYT are clearly ignorant about boats, and a lot of other things. A true luxury boat, even a small one, can easily cost a couple hundred thousand dollars. Rubio bought himself a nice, practical boat in my opinion. Smart choice for family fun.

Anyway new, its $81K. I found it online several places. But like my horses, its not the cost of the boat that gets you. Its the cost of the gas, mooring and upkeep that will send you to the poor house.

here’s one for 115K. the twin yamaha 150’s are about 15,000 each. boats are not cheap altho some are cheaply made.
