All of Cruz’s amendments were defeated, and you can’t make any after Fast Track passes and you can’t do a filibuster.

Obama is putting off his Amnesty plans, and calling the delay a stumbling block.
But don't be hornswoggled, all that he wants for Amnesty is in the trade agreement.

With a treaty he could just make Citizens which on itself is unconstitutional
but they will use this roundabout avoiding the Constitution to break the constitution
into as many pieces as they can. Both the DNC and GOP are doing this, all Traitors.

This Admin and cronies need a way to do Citizenship that the next POTUS cannot undo.
What they don't realize is that even if this is done, those who received illegal
Citizenship can be kick the hell out of our Country and stripped of their illegal status.

We (some Freepers) know some of what's in this trade bill, others are ignoring it, while
even more don't understand it. This bill is hidden for a reason and we will pay
for it with American treasure and American blood. Count on it.

> “That was a helpful response, although just because Ted Cruz offers amendments doesn’t mean they will pass ...”

Ted knows that Members of Congress have to go on record to vote for or against TPA’s immigration end run-around or its imposition of global climate change tax and regulation. Ted could walk away and just vote NO but he is more effective in shining a light on the liars. But there’s more to it which I describe below at the bottom.

Ted knows the legislation is going to pass and he knows how to bludgeon voting members by calling out their votes against the American People. He’s running for President and he’s calling out loud and clear the underhanded duplicity of certain other voting members. And the other members know that should he win the presidency, their goose is cooked. They can’t escape Ted’s gathering momentum. He has, is and will turn them around to get onboard with the will of the American People. That’s what makes him a great leader.

> “...and shooting down Obama’s actions within the next 18 months is not aligned with the reality of 66 votes.”

This bill is still a work in progress and it will be edited and amended greatly. The link I made in post #12 has Ted Cruz ***clearly*** stating that there will be 60 days for each member of Congress to review the bill which is presently more than 700 pages.

Ted Cruz could vote NO but he chooses to get in the trenches and fight, and call out the turncoats by name so that the American People can see who is to be trusted and who is not to be.

Now here are the nuts and bolts of how Ted is approaching this:

1. Texans want to sell their oil, gas and beef internationally. They want their Senator Cruz to get into the trade fight now and then get the power later when he is President.

2. Ted cannot wait until he is President to bring up a trade bill because then the democrats will vote straight party-line against it. So the opportunity is now. Ted loses by voting NO now and waiting until later. He has a chance to win for Texas and America if he gets into the fight now. Texas alone has 3 million secure good paying jobs at stake with this trade bill.

I would be interested in seeing a link that shows his amendments for the trade deal have been defeated. I don’t don’t believe his immigration restriction amendment has been defeated. I check daily and have seen no defeat on it. I think yo’re wrong on that. Provide a link please.

Fast track ‘passes’? Ted Cruz has read the bill and he says clearly that Congress and an up or down vote on any trade terms that are proposed. I think you’re wrong again. Once again provide a link please.

Why then does Ted Cruz want the Trade Deal? Because he says Obama has less than 18 months of effective time to do anything with the Trade Deal and Congress retains the power to make a thumbs down on any terms that Obama brings forward. They won’t be able to amend terms but they can vote it down.

Only with 60 votes in the Senate.

(snort!)

Well if Clinton wins, then it really doesn’t matter does it?

Ted voting NO now is not going to change anything. But his voting YES now gives him a shot to fight for America by steering the trade terms to benefit Americans. All this is explained in more detail in my post #23 above.

Cruz said it himself that a thumbs down on any trade proposals would be available to Congress.

Cruz is blowing smoke. Period.

By voting YES with the liars?

They have to go on record don’t they? You think McConnell is going to follow Cruz’ lead?

If Ted votes NO now he loses for Texas and America.

If he voted YES now he has a shot at fighting for America and benefiting Americans. My post #23 explains it more.

He’s not voting WITH liars. He’s voting for HIS VERSION supported by Americans who want to sell their beef, oil, gas and other products internationally. He’s fighting for millions of secure well-paid jobs that hinge on this trade deal.

Look, the idea of having a trade bill is not evil anymore than a gun is evil. It is not the ‘object’ that is the problem. It is Obama that is the problem and Ted clearly states he does not trust Obama at all.

If Ted wins the presidency he will not have a chance to bring a trade deal because the democrats will vote straight party against it. But he has a chance now to support Americans who want to sell their products.

There is right now an oil glut in the USA and new drilling is in decline because of it. There is also a huge amount of natural gas in surplus that the Europeans are begging to have shipped to them as LNG but Obama will not allow it.

There are hundreds of American industries that stand to benefit from trade reform.

The Trade deal in the hands of Obama is risky but not fatal.

The trade deal in the hands of Ted is a blessing but must be done now because there’s no chance to have it in the future.

That’s the political calculus that Ted is playing out. And he’s right.

It’s not ‘tortured’ anything. It’s smart and correct practical politics.

Ted is doing here to the anti-Cruz trolls what he did in Iowa to those pushing for ethanol subsidies. And the result is that Iowans support him even more for being honest.

The anti-Cruz trolls are losing because Ted’s connection with Americans is growing and leaving an enormous impression. Even the employees of his primary opponents acknowledge his speeches rate off the charts; one even saying he’s scoring 14 on a scale of 10.

The anti-Cruz trolls are not going to stop him by trying to mix it up with trade deals or H1B or anything because his logic is impeccable. He educates people to see what’s in it for them and he turns them around. That’s what makes him a great leader.

Time 1:12:49 LISTEN!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sznh5AjageI

As Ted says about his opponents to everyone he speaks to, “ask them to SHOW ME, not just TELL ME”. Ted has no issues page on his tedcruz.org website, he has only a record of accomplishments.

“YOU WILL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS”.

I don’t have to ‘believe ‘it, I ‘see’ it.

I know the FTC will not allow Americans to export their oil or increase their LNG exports. I don’t have to ‘believe’ that, I ‘see’ it, I ‘hear’ it, direct from FTC officials.

So Ted has tied Obama’s hands with Climate Change and Immigration and retains influence to bury any of Obama’s proposals.

Cruz nor anyone else will have tied Obama's hands on anything if fast track authority is passed by the House as it was in the Senate. And if Obama is given fast track authority, no amendments will be allowed and there is no way the House or Senate will vote down the entire TPP in an up or down vote.

Here’s what Ted has to say directly about your question on this (start time 52:00):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sznh5AjageI

> “And if Obama is given fast track authority, no amendments will be allowed ...”

Correct but misinformed and out of context.

> “and there is no way the House or Senate will vote down the entire TPP in an up or down vote.”

The TPP is not the trade bill and it is not a specific trade deal. It is simply a grant of authority as in jurisdiction.

You are confusing the trade ‘bill’ with trade ‘terms’ to be negotiated in the future. What you are doing is analogous to an unlicensed attorney walking into a court room to argue a case when it hasn’t even been decided on what the proper jurisdictional venue is.

I'm not confusing anything. Fast track authority, which the Senate passed and the House is considering, is a multi-year authority for the president to negotiate trade deals and then submit the negotiated deal to Congress for an up or down vote with no amendments.

The Trans Pacific Partnership is the trade deal Obama and the usual Republicans suspects want to pass after fast track authority is passed and the TPP agreement is finalized.

You're posting a lot of nonsense about Cruz tying Obama's hands concerning immigration and climate change provisions of any negotiated agreement.

Thank You for Calling out these Cruz groupies with this bold faced lie about Amending anything.

I am tired of reading this LIE by the Cruz folks.

They need to deal with Reality.

Cruz is a political hack just like Mitchy or Paul or Rubio or his pen-pal Paul Amnesty Ryan.
