Thanks for your post. I seem to recall a story of a teenager who was hailed as a hero for driving a school bus full of folks from New Orleans, to Houston, at that time.

Give black liberal Democrat (redundant) a microphone and see real stupidity in spades.

Why Dont We Support Transportation Infrastructure?
Because we're too busy building bridges, roads, and schools in other countries for people that hate us.

“”Trains are pre-1950s technology.””
True.
They are also pre 1850s technology.

But wouldn't everyone feel better with a flooded railyard full of unused train cars during a disaster instead of nasty old buses?

Every time I hear a hurricane is on it’s way, what I really want to do is get on a train headed to Miami. /snort

According to the mayor, New Orleans was a “chocolate city.” So don’t blame whitey.

Are school buses considered a public form of transportation in an emergency?

Unfortunately I live in the same TV market as Corinne Brown's district (Jacksonville). As a result I have to hear her speak on the local news on a regular basis.
Even compared to other Congress-critters, Corrine doesn't have so much as a nodding acquaintance with clear thinking. She makes Hank Johnson (Guam tipping over) look like a bleeding genius and Debbie Washerwoman Schlitz look like Miss America.

Over 200 buses in that pic, total for the lot is probably over 300. That is transportation infrastructure already in place. Democrat city leaders decided to not use it."
However the mayor did take advantage of the week long warning to move his family out of New Orleans into an up scale condo in Dallas.

“What do you call building a coastal city below sea level? Not so smart.”
New Orleans was built below sea level prior to American Revolution.
Had New Orleans not been built where it is, there is no telling who would have ultimately controlled everything west of the Mississippi.
