In an interview with Fox News host Megyn Kelly that ran on Friday, two of the Duggar daughters who were victims of their brother’s inappropriate sexual touching called out the magazine that illegally released the records that not only revealed the identity of their brother Josh (who was a juvenile at the time), but also indirectly identified the victims.

Jill Dillard, the second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, told Kelly that she suspected there might be an agenda behind the story. “I mean, I know that the tabloids that released this, even have — you know, they’re used to exploiting women. They have the parent company –”

“Well, Bauer…they’re a major porn provider…” her sister Jessa Seewald interrupted.

“So I don’t know if they are — maybe their mindset, they’re just used to making objects out of women and maybe we just didn’t seem any different,” Seewald continued.

Jill and Jessa are members of the conservative Christian family that has been featured in the reality TV series 19 Kids and Counting, and the young women are spot on about the background of the company that publishes In Touch magazine.

Bauer Media Group, based in Hamburg, Germany, publishes 600 magazines, over 400 digital products, and 50 radio and TV stations around the world, including In Touch magazine, the publication that uncovered the story of the abuse in the Duggar home. They also traffic in porn — some of it Nazi-themed., as you’ll see on the next page.

The Wrap reported in 2013:

But an investigation by TheWrap has found that there is a darker side to the privately held company, including publication of at least one magazine appealing to neo-Nazis, as well as significant involvement in the distribution of pornography — including Nazi-themed porn movies.

These lend perspective to Bauer’s legal woes in the United States, including a $50 million defamation lawsuit by Tom Cruise, filed last October after two U.S.-based publications alleged he’d abandoned his daughter Suri. In fact, Bauer generates dozens of legal complaints worldwide each year about invasion of privacy or libel, according to a lawyer who has frequently opposed them.

The Duggar sisters are absolutely correct. In Touch and Bauer Media Group make money, in part, by exploiting women and trafficking in content that sexually objectifies women. The young women in the Duggar family who were victims of sexual abuse by their brother were victimized a second time by a magazine that treated them, not as accidental collateral damage in their honest efforts to report a legitimate news story, but as an integral part of a business model based on sexual exploitation of women. They exploited the sexual abuse suffered by the Duggar sisters for money, pure and simple. And they’ve done it with countless other women over the years. Disgusting.

I have no sect. I have been involved with Messianic Jews (pretty cool), Independent and Fundamental Baptists (not cool), non-denominational (Meh), Charismatics (a little weird), and some other miscellaneous denominations. I can count on one hand the number of authentic Christians I have met that actually lived out their faith. IMO, the success rate of the conversion process is minimal at best.

What I can tell you is that the Duggars are on the other side of the spectrum as the I&FB, the single most hateful and unchristian bunch there is. Frankly, I have given up on organized religion for the most part, due to what I perceive as the overall ineffectuality of it in practice on the part of its adherents. “Christians” divorce and remarry, watch porn, get abortions, have gay sex, avoid taxes, lie, cheat and steal as well as anyone. But they are all forgiven and eternally secure.

So whatever.

When was it seal or expunged and if the case never did see the inside of a courtroom, how could it be expunged or sealed?

Do I need to start with the requisite “I’m not defending the Duggars”? OK - Now, what do you consider hateful and unchristian? And does this mean that if you considered the Duggars true Christians you wouldn’t want Josh’s head on a stick?

IMO they are not freaks, but they are FAKES. They are strict followers of Bill Gothard and his twisted ideology. Gothard TEACHES that victims of sexual assault are partly responsible for their assault (what did they DO to arouse their assailant?) Place that mindset alongside the youngest Duggar daughter (at 5 years old) being fondled by Josh during story time (sitting on his lap—which later was forbidden w/any of the boys by Michelle’s own admission) and you have to see that there a huge problem with Josh.

Though locks were placed on bedroom doors, children’s games of hide and seek forbidden, none of the brothers ever left alone or in charge of their sisters (all admitted by Michelle and JimBob to Megan Kelley) the most immediate action wasn’t done. Josh Duggar should have been removed from the family home and sent to live with childless relatives while being given counseling treatment. That wasn’t done. He was kept in the household (appearances for grooming for the TLC show?) until months later (again admitted by his parents) and then he was sent to a family friend doing home renovations (not professional Christian or secular sexual abuse counseling).

All of this occurring while negotiating a TV contract for a reality show to promote the Duggars as the ideal Christian family. They knew they had a serious problem with one child victimizing his younger sisters and yet JimBob and Michelle forged ahead...freaks NO...FAKES YES.

OMGosh.....I will pray for you......you ARE searching, which is great, but you would be doing your soul a HUGE favor if you went to a Catholic Mass a few times. It's the one TRUE Church from which all the others started.....why not experience the REAL PRESENCE of JESUS??

BTW....religion isn't supposed to be "COOL" it's supposed to get your eternal soul to heaven and do what Jesus commanded, which is NOT easy.....but VERY rewarding.

I object to murder but it’s not because I’ve ever been murdered before.

I object to those on FR who are insisting that voicing an opinion makes us “haters” or criticizing posts they don’t like by calling them “hysterics.”

I object to those who’d like me to apply a different set of moral standards to the Duggars than I apply to any other 14 year old molesting his own sisters because the Duggars are “real TV” celebrities on a popular TV program.

Which makes you far more of a danger, historically speaking, than a million Josh Duggars.

Josh recognized he was out of control, did wrong, and honestly sought help and forgiveness.

If you have ever been involved with people of their ilk, you would know. My opinion is that their are completely phony and behind that facade of holiness they project are dead men’s bones. Read that as they are modern day Pharisees - subject to Jesus most scathing denunciations.

The second question is pointless. A true Christian would not do such things. Also keep in mind that in most ancient cultures, the age of reckoning was pretty young. Our societal values of 16 and 18 are just numbers. They are not biblically derived. In my view, he damn well was accountable.

It’s not Freeper backlash. Personally I am horrified by child molestation and don’t give special consideration for fame or religion.

To show you how consistent I am, after the awards show (maybe a year ago?) where Diane Keaton stood up and gave Woody Allen an award, speaking about all of his accomplishments, I was tweeting (along with his supposed “son” probably fathered by Frank Sinatra) about his forgotten achievements like molesting his four year old daughter.

I found the people applauding for Allen just as repulsive as the FReepers “forgiving” the Duggars. I believe none of you wanted hands in your four year old panties nor would excuse it in your own daughters, BUT WERE COWED BY FAME OR RELIGION. And I’m saddened.

Where, precisely, do you find evidence that the
Duggar parents “condondoned four of their daughters being molested?”
They did no such thing. They struggled with this child in the same way any good parent would which included contacting state authority and supporting professional government run counseling for their son.
They did not throw him to the wolves and destroy him for all time. They did not treat him as an adult sexual predator because he was a child with behavior that needed to be controlled.
They saved their son from being permanently destroyed.
We can not expect many parents to act with the serious care the Duggars displayed. Children get in trouble. Sometimes it is serious. How parents react makes all the difference.
It is tragic that childhood problems become fair game for perverts to assassinate the character of a young person who has overcome their problems.
