There are only two sports in the world: Baseball and everything else.

I heard when they raided the HQ yesterday, all the FIFA leaders fell to the ground and faked an injury

My 'optimistic' eyes first read the headline as "FIFA Members REJECT ..."

Sadly I am obviously wrong on the re-read. However it does mean that the soap opera will continue on that high level. Frankly between FIFA, F1 Racing and anything associated with the UN, it is hard to see which is more corrupt!

In a perverted sort of way, I admire them for not bowing down to the Media Gods.

He quoted Ben Franklin in his campaign:

“We must hang together, or we will surely hang apart”

Blatter’s power base in Africa, Asia, and (with the notable exception of the U.S) the CONCACAF (North America, Central America, and the Caribbean) regions held firm. He continues to ride on making sure those places get flooded with kickbacks and posturing that the “old world” (specifically, Europe) is just resentful of soccer being a true “world game”.

Whether anyone believes that garbage or whether they’re just in it for the swag is irrelevant. The ones profiting from the regime aren’t going to put an end to it.

Hopefully, there will eventually be enough indictments/arrests from a variety of governments to topple the whole damn thing. This is a house that needs to be cleansed from top to bottom anyway - just removing Blatter would only have concealed the rot, not cut it out.

Problem though is that there is a perception that the arrests of those FIFA officals is being done because the USA LOST the bid to HOST either 2018 or 2022.

Why should the U.S. DOJ waste time and our money on this BS? FIFA isn’t a U.S. organization and has its offices in Switzerland. Makes about as much sense as going after OPEC for price fixing. Most Americans don’t give a rat’s posterior about FIFA or soccar for that matter.

That's certainly what Blatter (and Putin, for that matter) are trying to make people believe. But the fact is, everyone knows these guys are dirty. The fans are all cheering the US on. But the crooks in charge will stick together and maintain the fiction so that they continue to profit from the status quo.

Next up is the vote to kick Israel out of FIFA, for the horrible crime of being Jewish, and politically-incorrect.
