People keep believing it because some women actually DO have rape fantasies. Not so much the physical beating part, but the dominant sex part. If that was not the case, then one would have a hard time explaining the success of ‘romance’ novels that are loaded with that very thing.
And in my life i have known several women that had no problem discussing it openly.

Many straight women fantasize about being forcefully "taken," in a sort of "bodice ripper" scenario, but that does not mean they want to be raped. They don't fantasize about broken jaws and black eyes.
Sanders was probably alluding to this research or something like it. Or maybe not. You never know with sex-obsessed liberals.
