Residents that have lived on the Blanco River for decades had never seen the water reach levels like it did Saturday night.
This is the worst one Ive seen in 25 years, said Mark Western, a resident of Wimberley. The highest Mark had seen the water reach was touching the Ranch Road 12 bridge in 1998. This time the water went over it, taking houses and foundations with it.

How are things in New Braunfels? I remember they had some pretty bad flooding only a few years ago and one really bad flood in 1998.
No, the drought isn’t over but the rain is helping a lot moving us from exceptional and extreme drought status to moderate in the middle of the state and normal for the west and east. Lake Travis, near Austin is 55% full / 32 feet below full. Lake Buchanan, upstream from of Austin, is 41% full so we still have a way to go.
Wet. The ground is saturated
Texas Flood 2015 ping*
Good luck. There was a small one near grown kiddo’s apt. two days ago.
and it looks like rain!!
Y'All stay safe.
Got E-Mail from one of the Guys I worked with at Canyon Lake Water this AM. The Big Water Treatment Plant at the Headwaters of the lake is Not Operable
The U-Haul pic is near kiddo. It sent trucks flying across the street.
It’s still raining and we’re under a tornado warning now.
no , I live in Phoenix but grew up in the Wichita Falls area
We were supposed to go to Canyon Lake, this weekend. We looked at the forecast and at all of the ripe plums on our plum tree....and decided to stay home and can plum jam. We ended up with 60 pints of jam and missed out on the weather.
Again, prayers up for all in harm’s way.
Yep...it ran over to the old riverbed, and formed a gorge. They discovered dino prints there, after the waters had subsided, and now give dino print tours.

That’s one of the sites I’m always checking.
I can’t believe the release rate is 0. Can that be right?
I know the ground below the dam is saturated, maybe that’s why they’re holding...at least for a while.
I have family in the Hill Country.........they are safe...praying they stay that way..
Lake Travis was pitifully dry.....is now up 15 feet, but could use another 35 feet to catch up......
Dripping Springs caught some real damage...
Terrible about Wimberly......I’ve never been, but hear it’s very quaint and artsy.....I don’t know if that area was under water.
Just wet, no flooding to speak off other than the usual low water crossings. Was just down at the Comal and at the headwaters the water was already clear. Think it’s closed for tubing down river but that’s not uncommon.
Yes that’s right.
They’re trying to let some of the overflow drain through the river, downstream, before the next deluge.
Are you near Austin?.....my family is close by.
I was there. Up in Cranes Mill (124 Highview St.) near the Fire Station on Oblate Dr..
And the tornado that started near Rocky Hill in Gillespie County is at Laneway.
The two seperate families were renting river vacation homes for Memorial Day and a wall of water came down and washed their two houses off the foundations. One father survived. McCombs family. Very depressing.
