Islamic extremists in Belgium have publicly threatened to kill the mayor of the Belgian city of Antwerp, Bart De Wever, if he does not convert to Islam, local media reported Monday.
A sign written in French stating threats against de Wever, who is also the head of the nationalist political party the New Flemish Alliance, was placed on one of the main squares of Antwerp. Experts are currently assessing the seriousness of the action and the message.
“I always warned that we will not get rid of the threat from Islamic extremists in the near future. This was ignored for years. This wound became apparent now with [the current developments in] Syria and will fester for a long time before we will get rid of it,” de Wever said.
Throughout his political career, De Wever has repeatedly received threats. The Belgian government has provided him with security guards at state expense.
In the light of advance of the Islamic State (ISIL) terrorist group in the Middle East and a number of ISIL-inspired terrorist attacks in Europe, the European Union has currently seeing a surge in anti-Islamization sentiment.
According to September 2014 statistics from Belgium's Ministry of Interior, between 300 and 350 Belgians have gone to fight alongside the ISIL in Iraq and Syria since 2012.

Here, if a muzzie makes threats like that, he then has to walk down the sidewalk & guess which “infidel” might be packing a weapon along with an attitude against Islam. Kinda like “a rifle behind every blade of grass” if you get my drift.
Wearing muzzie garb along with the hatchet face typical of Pakis & Arabs makes target identification even easier.
Muzzies in an America swarming with armed “infidels” generally refrain from issuing overt threats like their brethren do in Europe. Instead they practice “lawfare” or other tactics such as the “swimming pool veto” as noted.
I understand they make some great beers in Belgium, and their hunting shotguns are second to none. Both however are available here, so why travel there?

As far as the questions, I've actually discussed these with him:
1. Nothing. He doesn't have a problem with pictures, though he doesn't like to see people make fun of his Prophet. He might conceivably go talk to them about not doing it again, but probably not. He's not big on confrontation. :)
2. Nothing. "There is no compulsion in religion."
I make no claim he's a typical Muslim or a typical convert. When he converted, not many Americans were really aware Islam existed.

You ignore long stretches of history in which that command was a part of everyday life in many parts of the world: in both what is now the Muslim world and in Spain, the Balkans and Sicily during the periods when they were under Muslim rule, the Christian or Jew who paid his jizya and kept his head down was left alone until some Muslim, any Muslim, not necessarily one in authority, felt an imagined insult or wanted some of his property, at which point a trumped up charge was brought before a Muslim court, which invariably found against the non-Muslim, but typically offered conversion to Islam as an alternative to the death sentence pronounced. This was an everyday occurrence.
You make a good point but most folks I know would rather die than live under islam.

I’ve never seen any numbers on how many Christians and Jews hang around to pay the jizya after a muslim conquest, but I would bet that most would flee or die fighting.
I think not. Most people don’t flee their homes or die fighting when their country is conquered. Spain was majority Christian and had a large Jewish population all during the period of Muslim rule, likewise in all the countries of the Balkans after the Turkish conquest — even the Muslim Albanians and Bosniaks are descendents of Christians who stayed. Egypt was majority Coptic Christian for centuries after the Muslim conquest.
The choice for reform is on the muslims, not on the Christains or Jews.
Yet the very words of the Pederast Prophet preclude reformation as they are allegedly the revelation of Allah and are therefor not open to interpretation or reformation. Islam is either taken in whole or not at all. Anything else is blasphemy.
Inevitably, the West will have to deal with the muslim problem. Islam will have to reform itself, or be annihilated in some sort of “final solution”. Absent that, the west will have to capitulate to Islam.
Those are the only two choices. Islam has been at war with the world for 1400 years, I don’t see that changing without some sort of duress.
We all know individual muslims who have splendid qualities, and are fine people, but where is the call for reformation is Islam...or Islam to stop it’s violent conquest? Does you friend dare to say these things, or does he keep his mouth shut out of fear of the more devout elements?
I am looking at the horizon, not at my feet. It is evident to anyone who cares to look that there is a final confrontation coming. It may be unpalatable, but it will have to be dealt with in one way or another.

Fleeing wasn’t nearly as practical 1000 years ago as it is today. The Middle East is rapidly losing its minority religious groups for the simple reason that they have places to go.
1000 years ago, not so much. A peasant who fled lost everything and went into a land where he didn’t speak the language and had no way to earn a living comparable to what he had before fleeing.
However, quite a few did flee into Byzantine lands and were settled by the emperors along the borders as peasant/soldiers, the rough equivalent of the later Cossacks. The Habsburgs did much the same along their Military Frontiers.
