Trump donations to Clinton Foundation add to gun owner concerns

Potential GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump and his daughter have donated “at least $105,000 to the Clinton Foundation,” The Hill reported Thursday. Contributions, per the Foundation website, “advance the work of any part of the Clinton Foundation, including the Clinton Global Initiative.”

That would be the same group behind the Clinton Global Citizen Award, presented to anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg by Vice President Joe Biden for being the “most fierce and most effective advocate that we have on the matter of gun sanity.” And it’s hardly the first time Trump has come across as effectively bipolar on guns.

“I love the NRA, I love the Second Amendment, so you have to know that,” Trump proclaimed at April’s National Rifle Association Leadership Forum in Nashville. “I promise you one thing, if I run for president, and if I win, the Second Amendment will be totally protected, that I can tell you.”

That doesn't exactly square with past statements -- by a long shot. True, he’s not against the concept of guns in private hands, under controlled circumstances, as Trump is one of the few elite recipients of a New York City concealed carry permit. But where does he stand on other aspects of the right to keep and bear arms that will interest gun owners looking for candidates worthy of their support?

Trump has a record on the issue from a prior time he was thinking about tossing his hat into the ring.

“Dems and Reps are both wrong on guns,” he declared in 2000, offering what he presumed to be an acceptable middle ground. “Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea

Wow. If Trump really made those donations in order to sue the Foundation later, that would be mighty clever strategy right there.

But if Trump contributed for any other reason, then we have even more evidence that Trump is a fraud.

Off Trump like many people were suckered by the CLINTONS. Many people with money donate to charities that “ sound good” without looking into the big picture. Once taken they are embarrassed and angry and want retaliation.

so Trump and Jeb Bush both are big-time donors to Hillary...

it is good that this information is being Outted now...so we can vote accordingly

(it is also amazing to me that Trump of all people would donate to Hillary!? What could he possibly have been thinking?)

Trump reminds me of the driver who takes “his half” of the roadway out of the middle.

Anybody can get a picture of themselves with a politician. That is no endorsement.

Trump stole intellectual property rights from Reagan.

Trump will drop out of the race after he has done what he deems to be enough damage.

Won’t work this time around!

In a recent Fox News interview, Trump explained that New York is overwhelmingly Democratic; the Post notes that more than two-thirds of his donations in the state have gone to Dems. “So what am I going to do—contribute to Republicans? One thing: I’m not stupid. Am I going to contribute to Republicans for my whole life when they get heat when they run against some Democrat and the most they can get is 1% of the vote?”

This is from a 2011 article titled:

“54% of Trump’s Donations Went to Democrats”

http://www.newser.com/story/117307/54-of-trumps-donations-went-to-democrats.html

Keep in mind, that means 46% of his contributions went to Republicans.

Even though, Democrats are in control, in a lot of places Trump does business.

Trump was NEVER a conservative. And as I pointed out during his very successful ploy at derailing the birther question, most of his political donations went to Democrats.

He got fame, money, and ratings. Conservatives got nothing but distraction.

Thanks for that info!
In my humble opinion, Trump (especially as he IS so rich!) should donate to things he believes in .. and not just to buy political favors from corrupt politicians

just my opinion. Trump giving so much to candidates he supposedly does not agree with..... means either... he really DOES agree with their leftist politics.....or else he lacks any real sincerity in his political views ....He does not need to give bribes to make more money (something he has a genuine abundance of anyway).

Just my opinion. I will now thank Trump for at least raising the issue of O’s lack of constitutional qualification for the presidency. And I will now plan to vote against Trump if his name should ever appear on the ballot.

“The pursuit of money is the root of all evil” or something like that
Trump, bless him, has so much $$$ he does not have any excuse for compromising his supposedly values...by giving bribes to corrupt politicians...in the pursuit of even more money for himself. No excuse at all.

Well you guys are for Cruz.

I haven’t seen from Cruz a strong support-American businesses approach yet - I am not picking on the guy, I like him, but he’s not supporting American businesses. Nobody is supporting American businesses. Except Trump.

Trump is all alone, in aggressively supporting American businesses. And Sarah Palin is currently staying out of the headlines.

So I have settled on Trump for now. It is not completely, we see these stories differently.

:D
