He flashed gang signs in selfies, posted a photo of a Smith & Wesson on his Facebook page, and had a rap sheet even a veteran street gangster could be proud of. And now he’s been murdered — at age 14.
Bronx seventh-grader Christopher Duran was stalked and gunned down on a sidewalk near his Bronx home Friday morning — the victim, cops believe, of gang violence. “He was a gangbanger,” one law-enforcement source said of Christopher, a child known in his Morrisania neighborhood as already well on the road to doom when he was shot dead. “He terrorized the neighborhood,” said a woman who passed by the grim crime scene. “Christopher is no good,” another neighbor said. “I saw him fighting last summer in the street,” the man said. “We told them to quit fighting, but he would not listen. The person he was fighting wanted to quit, but he wouldn’t quit.” Christopher had been walking to school with his little brother just a few paces from his Sheridan Avenue doorstep when his killer — who had been lying in wait with a lookout posted down the block — pulled a gun. As the little brother watched, the gunman pumped a single bullet into Christopher’s neck, sources said.
The gunman then stood over the youth’s prone body and blasted away some more, striking the boy multiple times in the torso before he and the lookout both fled. Christopher was pronounced dead where he lay, in a pool of blood amid eight shell casings cast from a .45-caliber pistol, according to sources. The boy’s older brother is a “very active leader” in a notorious and violent gang known as 280, law-enforcement said. Police do not suspect that Christopher was mistaken for his brother.

Good point. That is probably true. Socialism/communism have killed huge numbers of people, some of the overtly (through executions or even Stalin’s mass starvation) and some through the corruption of culture and abandonment of personal ethics.
We just had two 15-16 year old blacks here in my quiet town kill some poor young Indian convenience store clerk (who was going to get married next month). They didn’t even “have to” kill him, because he was handing over the money.
But thugs hate anybody who is actually working and making a life for himself, because it shows them how miserable their own lives are. And believe me, the Indian guy wasn’t rich, he was just somebody living his life and having a good time and moving up.
These kids are mentally trapped at the bottom because of their dysfunctional culture. I don’t know what we can do about them. We need a million brave preachers of Christianity to go out and confront these savages.
BTW, the shooter committed his first violent armed crime only 2 years ago, at the age of 13, and has been busy ever since. He pulled the trigger in this killing but may or may not be charged with murder because he’s under 16, although his accomplice, who just turned 16, will be charged with murder.
Just wait until the older brother hears the neighbors dissing.
My first thought was thank goodness THEY won’t be blaming a cop for this.

And as usual, because the parties involved are not Caucasians, no mention of UNARMED, no mention of RACE, no mention of GUN CONTROL and there will be no riots.

I wish I had a magic wand to stop this vicious cycle of inner city immorality, lawlessness, laziness, crime, victimhood, pessimism and hopelessness.
This massive problem is rapidly getting worse and I have no idea how to stop it short of forcibly taking away all kids in the ghettos and projects and hoods and raising them with Catholic nuns.
There isn’t a solution. This is a tragedy and has been a tragedy for a long time. These kids pretty much have no chance. Garbage in, garbage out. If you are raised wrong by mothers who were raised wrong, odds are you are going to be garbage.
How sad. I can only pray for some fix.

I am surprised they did not also kill the younger brother as a witness to the crime.
Too many of the parents of these dead young hoods sacrificed the safety and well-being of their children for a lazy life of leisure for themselves. No self-respecting responsible parent would raise a child in this environment; they’d be working three jobs apiece to move them to a safe area.
I’ve never sympathized with parents who breed children for cash then basically abandon them to the streets.
Probably ended up saving the lives of more than a few people, and also saved the taxpayers’ the cost of a lifetime of incarceration for this thug.
Not trying to be mean, but eight rounds from a .45 is a place to start.

I lived on this earth long enough to see there is a structural problem at work here.
If an owner raises a dog who bites somebody, well, that happens.
If an owner raises dogs that bite people and has for 30 years, and his father before him raised dogs that bite people, and so did his grandfather, then you start asking questions. Either all dogs are bad or these owners abuse their dogs to where the dogs turn mean.
After some 4 generations of inner city blacks going through the mill, I think we have to ask the same question at this point. Are all these people inherently mean criminals or lazy slobs. Or is there some structural problem at work here.
It is very obvious to me that not all of these black children who grow up to become criminals and violent criminals are juts inherently bad seeds. It is pretty obvious at this point that the fatherless welfare subculture where studying is called “acting white” is to blame here.
I have no clue how to stop this vicious circle. I don’t know that it CAN be stopped without some massive national catastrophe such as a pandemic disease where 3 of 4 Americans die of short order and everybody gets seriuos religion real fast.
I do feel very sorry for these inner city black kids that are born into a subculture where they are nearly guaranteed to fail as happy productive citizens. So more and more as I go on, I am finding it harder to blame the gang bangers and welfare Queens.
Does that mean I’ve turned liberal and want to coddle the criminals and bury the welfare Queens in entitlements. No, just the opposite. Once they hit adulthood, they are fair game for whatever punishment and treatment they bring down upon themselves. Or even if they are only 14.
I just see the other side of it — that a lot of these kids growing up with a good father in farm country somewhere would probably end up being good, honest, hardworking, productive, happy Americans. I’m not saying we should buy their excuses. I’m just nothing that for most of the them, the problem and the blame is external — how they are raised or neglected rather, how twisted their subculture is and how damaging for a child — rather than internal, like some bad seed.
And it makes me sad to think of the millions of black inners city people for the past 60 years that have been screwed over this way. Thank God I was born in a nice suburb in a stable nuclear family that raised me with love and valued education.
I sympathize with the kids until they are young predators threatening anyone unfortunate enough to cross their paths; their breeding is no excuse for murder.
Live by the gun, perish by the gun.
