New York Times: Eating Food Aggravates Drought
American Thinker ^ | 05/22/2015 | NewsMachete

For a long time now the Liberal Media has waged a propaganda campaign to make you feel guilty for using electricity, claiming the planet was melting because of imaginary global warming. Now we are moving onto phase 2: since much of our food is grown in California, and since California is experiencing a drought (which has happened repeatedly thousands of years), and since growing food uses a lot of water, by eating food, the New York Times wants you to feel guilty for causing the drought in California.

Really.

California farmers produce more than a third of the nation’s vegetables and two-thirds of its fruits and nuts. To do that, they use nearly 80 percent of all the water consumed in the state. It is the most stubborn part of the crisis: To fundamentally alter how much water the state uses, all Americans may have to give something up.

You see? That's what's it's all about. You have to "give up" your lifestyle, your standard of living. You are now evil if you consume foods that take a lot of water to create. To help you with your new self-imposed guilt, the Times produced a colorful chart showing how much water different kinds of food require. It even labels food groups "guzzlers," to hammer in the point that if you dare to eat them, you are selfishly wasting global resources.

Two ounces of rice require 15 gallons of water. A single egg is 18 gallons. Three mandarin oranges require 42 gallons. A glass of milk, 55 gallons. Less than two ounces of beef require 86 gallons of water! How selfish you are if you eat meat!

Now, responsible people eat things like garlic gloves. Six garlic cloves only require a single gallon of water. The same for six celery sticks.

So the solution is to quit eating the foods grown in California - vegetables, fruits, and nuts - and start eating more cupcakes and Ho-Hos? ;-)

I’m sure that right now the NYT editorial board is chowing down on garlic cloves and celery. These elitist a**holes make me sick.

Remember: the ultra-libs want a worldwide population of only 250,000,000. We’re 6.25 BILLION over that mark right now.

What better way to reduce the population than by mass starvation? If it’s not fast enough, just shoot those who refuse to follow the guidelines.

Yes...it’s utter, demonic foolishness.

"Sooo. We’re just not supposed to eat?"

Progressives have been fantasizing about ways to get rid of 3 or 4 billion people for quite a while, so maybe they'll ban eating one of these days.

I think the NYT should do the world a favor and be the first to stop eating.

If they really wanted to do something more than print bird cage liner they would buy edible paper to print their rag. Most would prefer to eat the Times than read it.

It's a good thing we don't give a rat's ass what the liberal douchebags at the Times have to say. Their opinion is as worthless as any oboma voters opinion.

"Remember: the ultra-libs want a worldwide population of only 250,000,000. We’re 6.25 BILLION over that mark right now."

As long as progressives are in power, some sort of mass reduction of the human population will be on the agenda. They just haven't figured out how they can pull it off without creating a revolt.

One tactic I expect will be some sort of mass, voluntary sterilization program. They'll make it sound like it's your duty to the planet, and will offer some sort of reward for participating in the program. They are already far down the road towards marginalizing procreative sex in favor of homosexuality.

Among populations that would resist the idea, it will be done surreptitiously through adding chemicals to the water supply or some such thing, or perhaps even through brute force. People who want to procreate will be portrayed as savages.

The New York Times wants Americans to eat slime so liberal elites can have MORE ... editors dining at fancy New York Restaurants - totally pigging out while inviting every third world illegal to crash the country.

Yes, they hate us.

It's like forcing the everyday people to adjust to low flush toilets so Michale Moore and his butler (et al) can have larger swimming pools.

These are not nice people.

The most abundant crop in the US is corn. NOT grown in Cali. After that is soybean, also NOT grown in Cali.

Lettuce and avacados. Other than oranges and nuts, that is Cali’s crops. And I cannot stand avacodos...

The lunchroom at Sidwell Friends School uses tremendous amounts of water. They must be reined in and disciplined.
