Model Janice Dickinson sued Bill Cosby for defamation on Wednesday over denials made by the comedian’s representatives after she accused him last year of raping her in 1982.
Dickinson’s lawsuit seeks unspecified damages on defamation, false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims. The suit states Dickinson has been re-victimized and her reputation has suffered because of pointed denials by Cosby’s attorney that the comedian drugged and raped her in a Lake Tahoe, California, hotel room more than 30 years ago. The allegations were first made in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” after numerous other women accused Cosby of drugging them and inappropriate sexual conduct dating back several decades.
The lawsuit states Dickinson, 60, sought a retraction of the denials from Cosby, but the request was denied.
An email sent to Cosby’s attorney Martin Singer was not immediately returned. Singer called Dickinson’s rape allegations “false and outlandish” in a letter to The Associated Press last year.

This look like an attempt for attention. You accuse someone of rape. The person denies it. How’s that defaming?
Let’s see, a woman makes an accusation against a man who has deep pockets, of a crime that supposedly happened more than 30 years ago, and has no evidence whatsoever.
Sounds reasonable to me. NOT!
And then she gets upset when he says no. Blatant attempt at extortion would be my guess.
Time for Bill Cosby to take the Woody Allan strategy and move to Europe. Justice is only for those who can’t afford to pull up stakes and move to a friendlier venue. Of course, Europe may not protect somebody who has told the truth about blacks and education. (And, yes, I am assuming in suggesting this that he is guilty. If he isn’t then this is far bigger than Hillary’s vast conspiracy.)
Cosby is owrth 200 million on up and is willing to spend anything it takes on lawyers. So I think any of these law suits will have a tough time as Cosbys high priced lawyers lawyers delay delay delay and obfuscate

Who do you believe? On the one hand, Cosby as been pretty much outed as a serial rapist yet Dickinson comes across as a 60-year-old model that’s desperate to remain relevant. Just reading her Wikipedia bio can question her veracity.
If she were the only one accusing Cosby, I’d dismiss it but with corroborating women making similar claims, I’d need to hear some specifics before concluding.

This is a pretty stupid lawsuit, even if Cosby is a rapist as claimed.
Its the rat trap. He’s finished now. Eventually, his deposition will be taken and he will have to confront all of the allegations one by one and deny them also, adding serial perjury to his pervert resume.
In the meantime, his fans here (God knows why) will continue to pretend he didn’t do it.

Yet, Wilt Chamberlain admits ^in writing^ to 10K+ sexual encounters in his lifetime and, no one, as much as BLINKS? Celebrity has its privileges, right?

Cosby is way beyond any extortion attempts. At this point what do the extortionists think they can get from him> How are they going to hurt him? unless they send the big ugly guy over to visit him.
I wonder how much of this is the bandwagon effect? Many lawyers are surely salivating at the thought of that 200 million just lying there. It only takes one to say, hey Rachel, remember you telling me how you wished it could have been more with him all those years ago? to get that ball rolling
She needs to sue her plastic surgeon.
what will be interesting is the info/how she is painted by Cosby’s attorneys. Her own autobiography discusses affairs with Trump and JFK jr. (and a slew of others). Her “love” life can be described as promiscuous at best.

Interesting post. Do you have some PROOF that Mr Cosby committed any of these crimes? I've not seen anything yet. I've not even seen circumstancial evidence presented. Just a bunch of people saying "Bill Cosby raped me". In the USA we are presumed innocent until proven guilty, no matter how many people accuse us of something.
20, 30 years later. I’m just not feeling it for the supposed victims.
The civil case that was settled in 2006 for alleged abuse that occurred in 2004 had 12 corroborating witnesses with similar drugging/sexual assault stories. I have no idea how they found these women, but there were at least 13 willing to swear to it in 2006. Maybe there was some Temple connection so they were easier to call up and ask?

Of course settling doesn’t necessarily mean guilt, but holy cow 12 women who all say the same thing about him in court? And this allegedly happened in 2004, before the media frenzy.

Isn’t the total close to 40 now, and hasn’t there been a settlement for a drugging rape that was only done in 2004 and settled in 2006, with 13 other victims willing to testify?
By no means has there been big time gaps for many of these accusations.
