ROME, May 19, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- Pope Francis has appointed radically liberal, pro-homosexual Dominican Father Timothy Radcliffe as a consultor for the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.

The Holy Father made the appointment on Saturday, according to Vatican Radio.

Father Radcliffe, an Englishman, author and speaker, was Master of the Dominican order from 1992 to 2001, and is an outspoken proponent of homosexuality.

"We must accompany [gay people] as they discern what this means, letting our images be stretched open,” he said in a 2006 religious education lecture in Los Angeles. “This means watching 'Brokeback Mountain,' reading gay novels, living with our gay friends and listening with them as they listen to the Lord."

In 2005, as the Vatican deliberated the admission of men with homosexual tendencies to study for the priesthood in the wake of the Church sex abuse scandal, Father Radcliffe said that homosexuality should not bar men from the priesthood, and rather, those who oppose it should be banned. ...

I AM CATHOLIC.
I choose to be and went through RCIA in 2000. So you want me to renounce my faith as of this?
You have no understanding of the Christian Faith.
If, and only if, you read a bible that recognizes Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, which is the Apostles of Christ, Then, maybe you get it. Other than that, stick to your snake. handling.
We are all sinners. I beg everyday for GOD to hold me in his hands and guide me.
Free will is a bitch.
MaxMax, you need to pause for a moment of clarity which prayer will give you!

>> Unless Catholics admit this has become a cult

Knock it off. There’s a definite problem, but to brand Catholicism a cult is absurd.

2 millennia in the making, and you’ll throw it away for an aberration?

Without the Church, we’d all be subjects of the Qur’an.

I am not Catholic, Jesus Christ is my intercessor. I just wonder how the same pope who quoted and apparently read Humane Vitae does this? Is he compromised and there is some evidence somewhere that his enemies to pull his puppet strings? Is there some multiple personality? Humane Vitae was a prophetic document that predicted the fall of the family. Not being a catholic, I am not familiar with other documents, but I used to have this one printed and framed.

Yes, a cult that Jesus started. And all the rest of the 30+ thousand protestants can claim the truth. Well put! ;-)

I’ve never seen rejecting scripture as a way of expressing Christ’s gift. I know of only four ways to gain insight into God’s plans for our lives: prayer, scripture, tradition, and reason. None of the four are telling me to reject God’s word on homosexuality, and I am unsure how this Vatican representative could reach a different conclusion.

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em ...

... and destroy from within!

Not unlike what has happened here in the U.S. - infiltrate the foundations of the targeted institution(s), then infect, infest, corrupt, and bring down little by little until it exists no more.

This is about as horrible as it gets. Anyone defending the pope now, isn’t paying attention....

Prayers for him, still, lots of prayers for him, and prayers for all of us [who are Catholics], that this won’t taint us into leaving the Most Holy Eucharist, for without Him, we will be powerless to fight the devil, and Satan couldn’t be more overt or obvious than he is today......across the board.

Remember the St. Michael prayer, and recite it daily.

Last I checked, Radcliffe had not been elected Pope.

The Pope, in appointing someone, is not endorsing everything that person does or says.

God works through flawed people. Solomon was really chosen by God to be king of Israel—but he did not “speak for God” on every topic. Judas and Peter both were chosen by Jesus as apostles, but both had times when they weren’t models of truth.

The Church teaching on Papal teaching is fairly nuanced. Not everything somehow affiliated with the Pope needs to be taken at all seriously—which would certainly include Radcliffe.

The most pertinent excerpt from Vatican II’s Lumen Gentium is from LG 25:

Bishops, teaching in communion with the Roman Pontiff, are to be respected by all as witnesses to divine and Catholic truth. In matters of faith and morals, the bishops speak in the name of Christ and the faithful are to accept their teaching and adhere to it with a religious assent. This religious submission of mind and will must be shown in a special way to the authentic magisterium of the Roman Pontiff, even when he is not speaking ex cathedra; that is, it must be shown in such a way that his supreme magisterium is acknowledged with reverence, the judgments made by him are sincerely adhered to, according to his manifest mind and will. His mind and will in the matter may be known either from the character of the documents, from his frequent repetition of the same doctrine, or from his manner of speaking.

Radcliffe hasn’t even been made a Bishop. And Pope Francis, while very quick about expressing himself in some forum, doesn’t seem inclined to write Encyclicals (see above comment about the “character of the documents”). Thus far, he has issued one, and that was something that was largely put together under Pope Benedict. When he issues an Encyclical, or a Motu Proprio on a dogmatic subject, there will be something to get worked up about—but only what is actually said in the official language, not what is said in the press.

Does anyone know how credible this “LifeSite News” is?
I’m not familiar with it and don’t currently use it as one of my intel sources.

Until this report is confirmed by another source which I have come to consider reliable I’m going to have to take it with a bit of salt.

If it is credible, however, then a lot of Protestant’s suspicions of the RCC’s role in end time prophecy will proceed a long way towards confirmation.

Not every Eschatologists accepts the premise that the Church (and perhaps not just the Roman Church at this point, but all apostate churches) is represented by the prophetic “Mystery Babylon” in the end times, but if it is, then adherants would do well to seriously consider Yeshua HaMoshiach’s (The Lord’s real Hebrew Name) admonition as recorded by St. Yochannan (John) in the Revelation:

Revelation 18:4 ~ “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

http://bibleontheweb.com/bible/KJV/Revelation-18?highlight_verse=4#4

There is a serious persecution about to be unleashed against what’s left of the European and American Church, much as it is being poured out upon the Churches in the Middle East and parts of Africa at the hands of the bloodthirsty ISIL Muslim barbarians.

Many Christians wonder why God seems to have lifted His sacred hedge of protection and mercy from around these suffering and often slaughtered Saints.

Could this lethal persecution possibly have something to do with one of those “plagues” the risen Yeshua was mentioning in Revelation?

How have these Middle Eastern Christians been treating Jews lately, I wonder?
Are they living and ministering Genesis 12:3 do you suppose, or have they been doing what most of the “Christian” Church has been doing for the better part of 2000 years; persecuting Jews and pouring contempt on Israel as well as competing denominations?

Some reports are claiming that participation in “organized religion” and the denominational Churches is declining all over Christendom, with those who tenaciously cling to the Faith alternatively fellowshipping in almost underground home and small group loosely organized gatherings outside of the approved ecclesiastical environment.

Could this be a sign of the times - part of the great “falling away” that the Apostle St. Shaul (Paul) predicted?

2 Thessalonians 2:3 ~ “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away (Gk. “Apostacia)” first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;...”

Could such a “falling away” represent an abandonment of the infiltrated and compromised “Babylon” of the perverted Church establishment by a faithful remnant under the conviction of Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit)?

If indeed what we are seeing is the beginning of a fulfillment of the Revelation, then it would strongly suggest that the “End Times” are indeed upon us and time for repentance and reconcilliation is short.

Mara Natha!

More bad outcomes from queers in the priesthood. You would think they would have learned their lesson.

Queers are invading churches of all faiths by design to destroy them. First they invaded to rape little boys in private. Now they invade to fragment the membership. The evil of the homosexual mind continues on a different road to destruction.

Precisely on point. There isn’t a male queer out there that is not a coprophiliac.
