Guess Whose Priorities Mitch McConnell is Pushing?
conservativereview.com ^ | 5/19/15 | Daniel Horowitz

Despite the looming deadlines for several other “must-pass” bills, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) (54%, F Liberty Score™) declared his intention to finish debate and pass the trade bill before senators go home for the Memorial Day recess.

Employing a tactic commonly used by his predecessor, Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), in a veiled threat to keep the chamber in for part of the upcoming recess, McConnell is using the jet fumes from the tarmac at Reagan National Airport to leverage members into dropping their amendments to the Trade Promotion Authority bill (“TPA”) and agreeing to pass it expeditiously.

This is the level of alacrity McConnell is employing to pass one of Obama’s top priorities. For once, McConnell is willing to play hardball with Senate Democrats (who oppose Obama’s trade deal for their own reasons) and keep them in during recess in order to placate his new friend.

When Obama announced his executive amnesty and nullification of our immigration laws last November, he likely never imagined this would be his “punishment” for violating the separation of powers.

Ironically, McConnell was presented with the same leverage point during the battle to defund Obama’s executive amnesty in February. A belligerent Harry Reid was blocking efforts to proceed with debate to the House-passed DHS funding bill, which funded every aspect of Homeland Security excluding the executive amnesty.

As mentioned in related threads concerning RINO Sen. McConnell, the ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and senators like McConnell along with it.

the only political party in DC is the establishment’s anti-American party. A public hanging is way past due for the treasonous scoundrels. But for their complicity in the killing of the US, hanging them would be too humane.

he’s very creepy. i’m not sure what skeletons he has in his closet, but i’m willing to bet his closet is full of them.

also, what’s with the GOP establishment choosing the least photogenic and least comprehensible majority/minority leaders for their party? he and the Ohio oompa-loompa both talk like they have their mouths full of marbles. in the TV age, there is no excuse for not understanding the benefit to having attractive, well-spoken representatives on TV defending your policies and principles. the GOP seems completely oblivious to this simple fact.

McConnell was first ensconced in the Senate in 1985.

1985...

Been plenty of time for inside-the-beltway corruption to seep into those veins. I doubt he needed any implicating videos. He loves to go along with this stuff...

Why go there?

You could look up who he actually is sleeping with and connect the dots and come up with a more informed comment.

Rand Paul on CSpan just said that we should apologize to all of the Black and Brown people who were arrested and convicted for crimes that were detected under the Patriot Act. What a disgraceful thing for a Senator to say. Must wants some Black votes badly to pander like that.

I suppose his views are those of his contributors. Big support for free trade among the rich. McConnell isn't the first or the only Republican to follow his donors on trade.

But his wife's father is a Chinese-American shipping magnate. According to Wikipedia, he gave the McConnell's money when their portfolio dipped. Mrs. McConnell does business with China herself, and her sisters married into wealthy American families.

Maybe bringing all that up is even uglier than phony gay rumors, but them's the facts.
