The most galling thing I have seen in the past day or two was the big ISIS victory parade after capturing Ramadi. Why wasn’t that area carpet bombed and/or some A-10s sent in to make swiss cheese out of the Toyota trucks?

Palmyra was the eastern frontier of the Roman Empire.
The Romans respected the Gods of others, especially in trading, so there are MANY different gods and cults represented there.
Which is why ISIS has vowed to destroy it, because there can be no “false idols” before Allah.

ISIS is the game. Most of what you on TV is eyewash to keep people from seeing what is happening.
Between the Turks, the Qataris, and the obamists, ISIS is doing exactly what they were intended to do. They have the occasional PR lapse, but the Turks and the obamists don’t give too hoots about that except as it complicates the PR. Which they don’t really care about, and once Assad falls, and Lebanon, and once ISIS sits on all sides of Israel it isn’t really going to matter.
But they only controlled a third of the city just a couple of hours ago!

Russia and the United States have begun discussing the fall of President Assad amid signs that Syria’s four-year civil war is turning decisively against him.
It was such a GREAT idea to try and get rid of Assad. Getting rid of Qaddafi was also a brilliant plan. I wonder what other leader will be removed from power without much thought being given as to who/what will fill the vacuum created?

However US and Russia met this week regarding Assad's imminent fall so remains to be seen how it will ultimately and actually play out......
