Wife of biker inmate: Some arrested in Texas are innocent
AP ^ | May 20, 2015 | Emily Schmall

Bullets ricocheted around the parking lot of Twin Peaks, the Waco restaurant where a motorcycle gang shootout left nine dead, just minutes after Theron Rhoten pulled in on his vintage Harley chopper for a regional motorcycle club meeting, according to Rhoten’s wife. Katie Rhoten told The Associated Press that her husband ran for cover and was later arrested, along with antique motorcycle enthusiast friends and other “nonviolent, noncriminal people.” Authorities swept up around 170 bikers who had descended on the restaurant for what one club member described as a gathering to discuss laws protecting motorcycle riders.... McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara and Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton declined to comment Tuesday on allegations that innocent bikers were arrested.

Are you familiar with the “show of force” concept?

What impact will this have on this weekend’s Rolling Thunder?

Will Obeyme’s Army be snapping photos of everyone riding...for later?

“i am not yet convinced that nervous cops overreacted to something and started shooting. All the dead are bikers- no cops.”

The AP whores did their job. A good portion of alleged freepers are completely satisfied with the story and outcome.

Not all weapons were guns. Remember, nail clippers are considered weapons.

I assume the bad guys here, were the Banditos, known criminal gang, and the uninvited Cossacks, known criminal gang, affiliated with the Hells Angels, and not invited to the confab at the sports bar.

I read that the Cossacks are in the process of being patched over by (absorbed into) the Banditos. The Cossacks want to keep their bottom rocker that says Texas and the Banditos don't want them wearing it. I didn't hear anything about them not being invited.

Innocent is a relative term for 1% biker club members

While making the mistake of watching the O’Reilly Factor last night, he was interviewing some guy who ‘used to be’ a leader of the Bandidos...according to him, the majority of the members are law-abiding citizens who know nothing of drug-dealing, extortion, racketeering and murder...Bill just nodded his head right along with that liar!

All the dead are bikers- no cops.

And we've been regaled with picture after picture of shot-up police vehicles...oh. not even a broken window.

So, who was the undercover instigator?

This reeks.

Most don’t realize that you can be a “1%er” without being a criminal...

Actual sincere questions here.

Aren't the 1% clubs by proud self-definition criminal organizations? Why in the world would anyone assume that someone who joins is not a criminal?

My limited understanding of RICO is that membership in a criminal organization is itself a major felony, in which case all members are by definition criminals.

If I have something wrong here, I'd appreciate being corrected.

no kidding

I KNOW some bikers- my electrician is one- and one of the ONLY contractors I trust out of the 40 or so I have had to hire for work over the years.

I have seen them act as patriot- i have a feeling when TSHTF it is going to be bikers and marines joining forces to defeat the gaystapo in the military

What you say might be entirely correct.

However, the argument sounds an awful lot like the complaints that not enough Jews are getting killed in Israel compared to the number Arabs.

Not if 1%er means outlaw gang, which is what most of us take it to mean.

I was listening to a report of this on television. They reported that many had concealed weapons and that the leader of the gang encouraged his members to get a conceal permit. I was thinking at the time if that were true, then the gang was not a criminal gang because you can’t get a carry concealed permit with a criminal record.

I’m beginning to wonder about this incident too. If they had been meeting at this restaurant each month, what was different about this day? The CEO of Twin Peaks said he received noticed from the police that this meeting was going to take place. He called the manager of the restaurant, who ignored him. If they had been meeting every month, I can see why the manager had ignored the warning.

If all the killings were by the police, something is not right here.

There’s the trial going on right now about an undercover policeman in a motorcycle gang that participated in the criminal harassment of a man and his family. Luckily there is video of what happened or the harassed man may have been charged with hitting one of the motorcycle members and leaving the scene of an accident.

I am nit and did not address the credibility of the wife or status of the man in question.

I observed the congruence of argument among Ferguson, Baltimore and Waco.

It’s the no criminal is ever guilty refrain.

You’d think what with ATF, state troopers, Waco PD, West PD, McClennan Sheriff Dept, etc. already in position when the bad guys came busting through the doors, they’d have had time to position the cameras.

“Does it matter? At least some Texan freepers are satisfied:”

“As a Texan, these police are doing and acting just as I expect, and just as I want. And just as they’ve done throughout history, here in this state.”

Wow, I guess I made the right decision 30 years ago not to take a “promotion” and move to Texas. This fits right in with what I’ve come to understand about that place. “It’s o.k. if the cops murder people so long as they kill the “kind of people who deserve it!”

When I asked the mayor of the small Texas town where I was considering moving to take a plant manager’s position if the town’s public swimming pool was integrated. He said verbatim” “ Why of course it is, but the ni—er’s don’t come cause then know they ain’t welcome!”
