Republican Lawmakers: Scott Walker Dazzles on Capitol Hill
Breitbart.com ^ | 19 May 2015 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 05/20/2015 5:57:43 AM PDT by Rockitz

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker—the clear Republican presidential frontrunner according to almost all GOP primary polls, even though he hasn’t announced a 2016 campaign officially yet—dazzled Republicans across Capitol Hill ...

told Breitbart News’s Alex Swoyer in an interview on Tuesday afternoon. Jordan met Walker to say hello on Tuesday but didn’t have time to stay for the full meeting Walker held with nearly a hundred Republicans. “Look, whoever emerges as the finalist—I think is going to show up, and will contrast with Secretary Clinton. But Governor Walker is impressive, and he has an impressive record in Wisconsin.”

Walker’s staff told Breitbart News in a readout from Walker’s day that he met with about 80 or more mostly House GOP members in the morning, then has meetings in D.C. planned for throughout the day with conservative movement heads and some GOP senators. “He gave a few opening remarks and then took Q&A,” Kirsten Kukowski, Walker’s communications director, said of the morning meeting with House members in an email. “Questions about what he’s done in WI and needing someone who can govern that way in DC, what happened with collective bargaining, foreign policy, energy, immigration, religious liberty.”

Walker, who also met with Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), dazzled the Utah conservative in a one-on-one meeting. An aide to Lee—who has emerged alongside Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) as one of two intellectual leaders of the future of the Republican Party—said the Utahan “went in a little doubtful and came away impressed” with Walker, according to RealClearPolitics.

Walker played up his new strongly populist pro-American worker immigration position—which mirrors Sessions’—in the meeting with Lee.

“Walker really downplayed his past views on it and said it was an issue he hadn’t really thought about, especially when he was Milwaukee county executive,” Lee’s aide told RealClearPolitics.

Jebby is running into trouble, so the Capitol Hill GOPe’ers trot this story out to help shore up one of their back-up candidates.

Anyone but Ted you know!

Watch for more anti-Ted smears to come out now.

Fast friend and fellow Conservative Senator Ted Cruz is the candidate of Mike Lee and Jeff Sessions.

‘Matt Boyle’ “planted?” article ping. He uses the word “dazzle” to describe Senator Mike Lee’s reaction to Walker. That’s laughable.

If Republican lawmakers like him I cannot vote for him.

I have a lot of respect for Jeff Sessions and Mike Lee. They have been rightly impressed with both Walker and Cruz.

Jeff Sessions and Mike Lee haven’t limited their choices to a single candidate this early in the election process.

I'm sure this is true. I'm also sure that Mike Lee was not "dazzled" by Scott Walker as the author wishes us to believe.

Don’t forget defunded Planned Parenthood, voter ID, concealed carry, and began the opening of iron mining in the northern part of the state.

His stances aren't perfect, but no other candidate can match his achievements.

Boy you got that right Bubba. Mitt Walker is nothing more than the GOPe default candidate.

If he’s already practically coronated why doesn’t he have the stones to announce?

If he’s so conservative how come after repeated questioning this week Walker finally broke down and admitted he is in favor of extending the entire Patriot Act including the bulk collection of phone data on all Americans. He can kiss my grits on that one.

Don’t fall for this guy folks. He’s GW’s third term. He will get elected and the next thing you will see is him signing Mitch and Tammy Faye’s amnesty bill.

There is virtually no case against Scott Walker for his capability to govern. He has already proved that case, in spades.

Personally, I respect him for taking care of business in Wisconsin and holding his act together there. It’s a very long time before the primary debates even start up and how he juggles between two extraordinarily important tracks as both a governor and a likely candidate making national rounds, including capitol hill, I’m sure I don’t know.

The flak he takes from Wisconsin and the supporters of other candidates has not touched his performance anywhere. All remain impressed.

As for national issues, he is on a learning curve common to every other candidate or likely candidate out there. They are all young enough and strong enough for the jujitsu of changing events, policies and politics.

He said that he says what he means and does what he says. I think he has proved that true in Wisconsin and proclaimed it in his campaign for governor there.

It will be different for him as he familiarizes himself on the international issues having to navigate that learning curve along with everyone else. But, he is as capable as anyone, just as trustworthy and his governance style is comforting for conservatives.

I love Ted Cruz too and trust him over all the rest on my issues. It’s just that he has disappeared in the mainstream coverage at this early stage, but only for the time being. We are prepared for attention to come and go in waves and then recede, then rinse and repeat.

Some things to add to your list:

You have to lead. You have to clearly spell out what you’re going to do, tell the people what you’re going to do and then do it.
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/04/20/scott-walker-lays-out-pro-american-worker-stance-on-immigration/

public employee unions - we have no seniority or tenure,
we can hire and fire based on merit,
we can pay based on performance,
we’re the 25th state in the nation to have Right-To-Work,
we require photo ID for voting,
we’ve defunded Planned Parenthood
pushed pro-life legislation
we’ve passed concealed carry and castle doctrine,
we cut taxes by $2 billion—in fact property taxes are lower today than they were four years ago.

WALKERS PATH TO CITIZENSHIP FOR ILLEGALS, CLEARLY STATED ON 4-24-15
“When I asked if he supported a pathway to legal status, he said no, he’d send them back to their country of origin and let them get in line with everybody else.”

One more, to help combat the (knowingly) lying opposition:

+++

Walker on ethanol, March 7, 2015

“While I do not support the mandate, I do not have a problem with ethanol...”

“However, it is clear to me that a big government mandate is not the way to support the farmers of this state...”

“Central planning will not help our family farmers, protect our environment, or provide jobs.”

“The free enterprise system must drive innovation to relieve our dependence on foreign oil, not mandates from the state or federal government.”
