Baltimore prosecutors shed new light on their rationale for some of the charges against the officers involved in the death of Freddie Gray, saying in a court filing that Gray had been illegally detained before officers found a knife in his pocket.
In announcing the charges this month, State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby said that the folding knife, which police initially described as a switchblade, was not illegal under state law, and so Gray should not have been arrested.
Defense attorneys for the officers who were charged with falsely arresting Gray, 25, have said prosecutors overlooked city law, which they say forbids possession of such a knife. They have used the distinction to argue that the case against the officers was rushed and flawed.

A silly assed or trumped up pocket knife charge is a farce for the state. Even if they can find some old ordinance or rule. They’d better do a whole lot better than that of they went to earn any public support or respect

It is so completely out of line for her to argue her case in the media like this. Very unprofessional. Perhaps it is, perhaps it is not a harbinger of this case blowing up in her face big time.
Gag orders generally aren’t imposed so one side can trash the other.

The last I knew , this arrest occurrred after police believed that they observed a drug transaction/sale..
and Grey disappeared into a building for several minutes , ..and wasn't arrested until later ( and then a subsequent search) .

The bitch be legal toast soon. A fullscale investigation of her political activities and those of her husband, plus their contacts in the Baltimore political arena, should reveal a pattern of cronyism and possible political payoffs (more like favors than just cash).
A background look at attorney Bill Murphy and any of his relatives (if they are of the Afro-American newspaper dynasty), would also be very revealing.
The whole thing stinks. I grew up in Baltimore and was around some of the local politicians/machine (I was not involved but family friends were). Many were honest; some were crooks, and all were Democrats.
The old grapevine was full of rumors of dirty backroom deals between the various Democrat Party ethnic factions, but the role of the Communist Party USA in black affairs was never mentioned anywhere. However, it did dupe a lot of Maryland/Baltimore’s top politicos into making donations to the Party under the guise of a “Tribute Banquet” honoring retired Rep. Parren Mitchell (from the politically corrupt Mitchell faction), a hardcore Red if there ever was. I remember that Ben Cardin and Barbara Mikulski were donor/sponsors of it though I think that Cardin was too politically ambitious and stupid to realize that it was a Party fundraising event, and Mikulski didn’t give a damn (she knew; she was an East Baltimore political veteran and probably knew when anyone farted). A lot of people were duped on this affair.
This whole Mosby/Blakey/Murphy circle is a giant scandal just waiting for an honest reporter(s) and newspaper to break wide open. Unfortunately, all you have is the Marxist-oriented Baltimore Afro-American and the has-been Baltimore Sun (once a great paper, now a shadow of itself).
What scares me most is that they can so easily dismiss what is legal, constitutional, sane and morally right!
May God protect those of us who know truth but cannot get on TV.
