A young Alabama boy brought a group of Waffle House diners to tears when he asked his mother to buy dinner for a homeless man he saw outside - and then sang a blessing with him at the table.
Ava Faulk said her son Josiah Duncan, 5, wouldn't stop asking her questions when he spotted a disheveled man holding a bag with his bike outside the restaurant in Prattville.
When Faulk explained the man was homeless, little Josiah asked 'What does that mean?'
Faulk told Josiah that it meant he didn't have a home, to which her son responded, 'Where is his house? Where is his family? Where does he keep his groceries?'......
.....It's a moment the mother said she will never forget.
'Watching my son touch the 11 people in that Waffle House tonight will be forever one of the greatest accomplishments as a parent I'll ever get to witness.'

There still is hope.
Nice story.
It’s very sweet.
>> There still is hope.
Understatement.
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Plus a little wisdom to know who is really homeless and who are the scammers. When I see able bodied people on street corners hustling for ‘donations’ my radar goes up.
That’s a very sweet story, and for this little boy, his mother handled it perfectly. However, most families i know, including the one i grew up in, would have shushed the boy and commanded him to be quiet or just let the restaurant handle it. You can tell he comes from a loving home. I get the impression it’s just Mom and Junior,no live in dad or other siblings. Many single parents with only one or two kids will treat the child as an equal or a friend. Each parental approach has pluses and minuses.
The kindness, innocence and sweetness of little children.... may we all still hold true to those feelings. This story is wonderful.. thank you for posting it, CW.
Can we assume that this young lad and his mother are believers in the religion of peace, love, forgiveness, humility and redemption? Can we assume they are church attending Christians?
The Malachim come in many forms sometimes looking and speaking as just a person on the street. A child will see clearly what a adult can not see.
What a touching story...made my day!
What’s a Malachim?
Yep, that BMW parked around the corner may well see the hustler enter it and drive away with a few hundred bucks more than he had when he parked it!
A Jewish word for angel.
Thank you.
Maybe when the kid is older his mom can explain that many of those people are homeless because the places offering to help them do not allow drugs and alcohol, and that these people oftentimes choose the drugs and alcohol over help.
That is the simple reason they beg rather than improving their situation.
They do not desire to be held to rules.
