Twin Peaks revokes Waco restaurant's franchise

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The Twin Peaks company has revoked the franchise agreement for its restaurant in Waco, Texas, the scene of a biker shootout that killed nine people this weekend.

"We will not tolerate the actions of this relatively new franchisee and are revoking their franchise immediately," said the Dallas-based company.

The company laid the blame on the managers of the Waco franchise who "chose to ignore the warnings and advice from both the police and our company, and did not uphold the high security standards we have in place to ensure everyone is safe at our restaurants."

The restaurant had already been shut down for a week following the fatal gang shootout on Sunday.

"The Twin Peaks restaurant where the fight occurred will be closed for the next seven days out of a concern about further violence," Waco Police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Monday.

In an interview with CNN affiliate KTVT over the weekend, Swanton criticized Twin Peaks for ignoring the police department's advice to keep biker gangs away from the restaurant.

"We feel like there may have been more that could have been done by a business to prevent this," said Swanton, noting that police had expected trouble with the bikers and had a marked SWAT truck standing by, in full view of the bikers, just before the fight broke out. "They absolutely have a right to refuse service to people that may be a harm to their patrons and employees. They didn't do that, and today is the ultimate aftermath of what their decision was."

I’d been looking for another thread on the biker shoot-out to ask a very basic question. Maybe someone will know.

What sort of rivalries, or differences, do these biker gangs have that would lead to a shootout? Do they fight over territory, or some philosophical difference, or is the membership by ethnicity, or what?

"In an interview with CNN affiliate KTVT over the weekend, Swanton criticized Twin Peaks for ignoring the police department's advice to keep biker gangs away from the restaurant. "

Do they have a procedure in their franchise manual to "keep biker gangs away from the restaurant?"

How, exactly, does a business owner do that?

The company pushes franchisees under the bus. I'd never do business with them.

...and did not uphold the high security standards...

Interesting. I wonder what The Twin Peaks Co. means exactly by "high security" standards?

If course the management of the franchise new nothing, absolute nothing of the practices of, apparently numerous franchises. “Why oh why were they so successful? We had no idea”.

Control of criminal enterprises, much like any gang.

When one of the combatants produced a gun the Swat team opened fire with automatic weapons. Multiple sources have told The Aging Rebel that all of the dead were killed by police.

They can ban people from coming in wearing biker colors, other restaurants ban things like facial or neck tattoos.

Read a sob story a couple months ago about a guy who was kicked out of a place like this because he had a neck tattoo.

You cant make sense out of nonsense. Its a bunch of dimwits and loser criminals claiming
“turf”, and reenacting scenes and behaviors they have learned from outlaw biker movies and TV shows.
Yes, its that idiotic.

Thanks, do you think any members are gainfully employed, or are the gang activities full time?

“How, exactly, does a business owner do that?”

A sign at the door, “no biker colors or vests allowed”. They’ll go elsewhere.

Thanks, I’ve heard about biker gangs for years, but never lived where any operated that I knew of, and didn’t know much about them.

"They absolutely have a right to refuse service

You know what? That's wrong.

More and more and more, private property in fact is not really private.

Many times these days if you refuse service to someone very hostile to civil society, you can LOSE YOUR BUSINESS.

Yesterday it was fags pretending they wanted cakes, and now?

Well, it could go ANYWHERE.
