But Zimmerman has standing. Given the creeps out to get him, couldn`t his lawyer make a plea of some sort, at least put the state on notice that IF the creep goes after him again while on bail it`s going to result in a massive lawsuit.

The state has no duty to protect any individual. No lawsuit is possible against the state, even if the state knowingly allows a deranged person “out to get you.”
