Gavin McInnes, Tamara Holder Have Respectful, Thoughtful Exchange of Ideas on Feminism

Mediate gets the vapors:

Josh Feldman writes: Sean Hannity panel tonight exploded when Gavin McInnes argued that many women are miserable because they “put work over family” — a result of modern feminism, he argued.

While debating the gender wage gap, McInnes asserted that women earn less “because they choose to” and are “less ambitious.” Tamara Holder was pretty taken aback, flatly telling her counterpart: “Your comments are absolutely deplorable.”

Even Fox host Sean Hannity squirmed during Gavin’s gleefully over-the-top rant. HuffPo‘s takedown:

I can’t explain it other than that I’m a girl

Maybe you're a lousy negotiator. If you are worth more than what you are being paid, then demand a raise. If you are worth more, you will get it. If you don't get it, go someplace that will pay you what you are worth.

I probably should save that clip. I laughed as I watched it, I laugh thinking about it, and I’ve been laughing through this thread reading reactions to it.

Someone succinctly said bullshit to the feminist party line, and it was like aluminum foil in drano.

I am comforted this is a fun thread...i couldn’t believe it wasn’t posted

the exchange was priceless

when she got personal with him and his seersucker he told her to marry a hunk then

didn’t miss a beat

her pleading with Sean to help her...damsel in distress ...

what a feminist ...she like all feminists exists falsely in an illusory era

He makes more money for the same job. I’m a former mil officer he’s retired enlisted. I made more as an officer tgan he did. Now in civilian world he makes more. I have more education and experience. We have the same job. I have much more to do. I am given much more to do

It could be that your boss is clueless and does not realize that you produce more than the other guy.

It could be that the other guy does things that your boss values more than what you do. I remember one client of mine from years ago, who would pay me a lot of money because I had a knack for fixing problems before they escalated into a crisis that would get the attention of HIS boss. I made him look good. As a result, he continued to get me paid big bucks (even though there were other people who would get the work done more cheaply) because of the intangible comfort he would feel, knowing that I would cover his back and make him look good.

Perhaps you could look closely at what the other guy delivers to your common boss that your boss might especially value.

twice the workload of my counterpart

What are your results? If what you say is true, why are you working in such an oppressive situation. As for your military example, fixed pay based on rank and time in grade.

Fixed pay exactly. No gender preference. Private companies can do what they want. They take chances about getting sued. But he’s getting paid more than I am because he’s a guy.

So you are getting the same results? If not, then you shouldn’t be complaining or you should be looking for another job, depending on your answer to the question about results.

I like my job. Happy with the situation do a good job. Have other things to do. Getting my credentials back in order for better situation. Always submitting resumes. And adding to good resume with this job

I’m not complaining. Pointing out that sometimes it’s true, women do get paid for the same or more work. I can smell it a mile away after being in military

Here’s my original statement:

Maybe he [Gavin, just about my favorite commentator] could tell me why I, who have twice the education, near the experience, twice the workload of my counterpart (twice as many customers as he, do I make less than he does.

I can’t explain it other than that I’m a girl

Yes, feminists want to stand on their own two feet and roar...until they could use a man’s help. Then, not so much.

Hannity thought the whole thing was hilarious; he was laughing his rear off.

“He makes more money for the same job.”

Then sue them. It is against the law to do that. Assuming it happens for real and not just in your imagination.

You might want to look at your contract. It may have details on how the company structures its pay - longevity, shifts, qualifications, etc. But if he is getting more for being a he - which I very strongly doubt - you’ll be able to retire off your winnings in court.
