Nope. Not from Colorado (don’t get the reference).

Spengler has always been an odd ball. I remember him from a long time ago at Asia Times.

He isn’t a conservative and if you read this you see his argument is Ted Cruz is smart enough to acquiesce to Putin because he knows to be scared of what Iran can do with Russia’s help.

Not a good description of Ted Cruz, nor a good understanding of how a non liberal American thinks.

Marco Rubio is a bright and personable young man with an attractive message, but he is callow enough to think that Bill Kristol and Charles Krauthammer are foreign policy sages.

Oh, snap!

LOL!

The author does not use his adjective well. Arrogant aptly describes Obama. Senator Cruz is confident. There IS a difference.

Just like Obama?

It's funny because every argument the Left uses against Cruz can be turned around and pointed straight at their Chosen One.

Good article - Cruz is smarter than Reagan and still has a few years to develop his "easygoing sense of humor". I hope he never mellows....

I agree - he's the only one with the cajones to make a difference despite all the pressures and roadblock that the Left and the RINOs that work for the Left will put up.

Barry is arrogant, too...but not in a healthy way.

Maybe “courage of conviction” is a more accurate term for Cruz and Reagan.

I wish others would have the courage to do the same.

We have. And then get another round of how our vote not cast for the GOPe candidate was a vote for the opposition or "wasted".

To those folks: It's my damned vote and I will use it as I choose. You have one, use yours.

Now, before this all gets out of hand, I could support a Cruz/Walker ticket.

This post trashed Walker to try to pump Cruz. Typical Palinista idiocy.

Nonsense.

It is simply a false dichotomy. There are two slots on the ticket, Cruz for POTUS, Walker for Veep. Unite forces and git 'er done!

Hi 2DV,

Interesting article. I always appreciate the articles that you find and post. I have two observations about TC.

First, he is the consummate chess player that is moves ahead of the field. His self-analysis gives him “arrogance” (in a good way) that he is correct. He sees the entire battlefield long before others sit down to the table.

Second, I’m reminded of one of my most hated classes in College; Philosophy. Now years later, I recognize the importance of being required to take it. Like Cruz, there is not a path or life decision made by me that does not involve weighing what is at my core. Cruz is an original. He is intelligent, savvy, educated, personable, and forward thinking. Despite the quick judgments about him he is truly a bridge builder with those that do not have selfish motives. You will never (rarely?) hear of him making ad hominem attacks or calling names. He is always focused on the issues. Senators like McCain and McConnell call him out because they can’t defend their positions. They refuse to engage with Cruz in substance - they know they are not playing the same level.

TC is a self examined man. He is comfortable in his own skin. And, he wants every American to be comfortable in theirs. Reagan was like that. There is no disrespect of others. There is a sense of inclusion, not exclusion. He raises the self esteem of all that come into contact with him. He operates from a belief of abundance, not scarcity.

Enough for now. Again, thank you for your incredible “finds” that you unearth. Be safe my friend.

“Arrogant” means, “having an exaggerated sense of his own importance.”

Hardly a virtue, and not a good description of Reagan or Cruz.

And it certainly doesn’t help our cause to be devaluing the currency of our language - let alone attributing a vice to our own best candidate.

Your post is very insightful. You make the most valid point, that the real factor with Reagan, Palin and Cruz is FAITH. Some may, as this author does, confuse that with arrogance, when it is truly the unwavering belief in God and trusting Him for Wisdom. They know that, “If any man lacks Wisdom, let him ask of God, Who will give to him liberally, and upbraideth not”. That is where their confidence is, in God, not man. I Love it!

Walker has only gotten anything done because of the Republican legislature that does all the work while he takes the credit. That’s the honest truth.

If Cruz is elected, Obamacare will be repealed. I admire the stand he took and so do most Americans. The only people bothered by that stand were the coward politicians who thought it was going to hurt their reelection.

Yep—though more of an argument warning of the potential for Walker to melt down in a campaign against Hillary.

My position of Cruz over Walker is that Cruz is at least less bad on illegal immigration.

Agreed—this guy misuses the word ‘arrogant’ throughout this entire piece.
