Redhead banned from [U.K.] high school in England for being too ginger [natural hair color]

A redheaded high school student in England has been banned from classes for being too ginger, the devastated teen said.

Emily Reay, 17, of Cumbria, was scolded by teachers who told her she couldn't come back to the Trinity School in Carlisle until she gets rid of her natural bright auburn locks or "tones it down considerably," according to reports.

"I was very angry at first, and then burst into tears," she told The Telegraph. "I've had the same color for the past three years, and nobody at school has commented on it."

The burgeoning musician's hair, which has hints of orange, had been a "bone of contention" since the beginning of the school year, the news site said. It reportedly falls under the category of "unnatural" hair colors like blue or green.

But the Monday news still stunned the teen, who won an award for best hairstyle during prom.

As was my ex-wife’s! Stunning! But she was also completely nutz!

I noticed you called her your Ex-wife, and that she WAS completely nutz.

So...you're saying that before she became your ex, she WAS nutz, but now that she IS your ex, she no longer is nutz?

...Hmmmmmm...

Green eyes, brown eyebrows.

You wouldn’t believe the other part of the test.

Not a sure bet.

I thought the same thing, but maybe she meant she’d been at that school for three years, and had had that color the whole time, and no one had said anything until now.

Higher life form. Thats why Blondes and Brunettes buy red hair dye. An instant 5 IQ point jump (25 for blondes)and better chances for a date on Friday night.

People just fear what they cannot understand... ;)

When I was born, my hair was very dark brown, like my paternal grandfather.

Then it changed to molasses red-brown and by the 6th grade, was very auburn.

By high school, it changed again and was a non-nondescript reddish brown which went straw blonde in the sun.

I use Clairol Jazzing Ruby Red which is a “cellophane”, to punch it up some.

It’s just a transparent boost for your normal color.

That teacher was a jealous harpy.

Graduated UCSC dual major Psych and Communications, now studying Oriental medicine after a work-related back injury that western medicine couldn’t help.

Oh, and her hair? Grey. At 25 she selects grey. Go figure.

boy I’m shocked about the number of people on here thinking that’s fake ....they know nothing about people that have red hair

I used to grow a great beard that was that beautiful full bright auburn red color (till gray patches came in in my late thirties..I miss my red beard it was really beautiful) I was nicknamed Barbarossa (Red Beard) by Danish girlfriends family...

The red comes from my Scotch ancestry

Yet my rest of my hair on my head was dark brown it changed right at the sideburn line

Oh...Okay.
I was just thinking she was nuts while you were married, but became normal after you were divorced.

Makes one wonder what (or who) the problem was. :)

I hang out with bikers and their beards are an endless source of fascination.

Very few have the same color hair as beard.

I *love* the ones who have the fiery chins.

Shows up a lot on blond guys, oddly enough.

:)
