RINOs like McCain don’t care. They will be on this Sunday if invited.

McCain would sit down with Jihadi John if it meant a television audience.

IMHO getting rid of Stephanopolis is a fool’s errand. George Stephanopolis is an exemplar of what all journalists actually are.

Journalists are all exactly like Stephanopolis because journalists are “the critic” not “the man who is actually in the arena.” Because journalists don’t actually do stuff, but report the failures (real or, not infrequently, imaginary) of those who try to actually perform.

Since “bias in the media” is such a consistent theme, it makes sense to analyze what that means. As “the critic,” journalists have an incentive to reject TR’s “It is not the critic who counts,” and rather promote the opposite idea - namely, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that.”

It is clear that all journalists have that same motive, but why do they have such untrammeled opportunity to vent their own self-interest? Clearly, it is very hard to point out that “the emperor has no clothes” - and close to impossible to point out that the “objective” reporter consistently gives expression to his own self interest. Why? The answer is so obvious that it took me decades to see it in plain sight.

The Associated Press is a mutual admiration society which enforces adherence to the “one for all” mentality that journalists have to protect each others’ reputations for objectivity. It has been claiming objectivity since before the start of the 20th Century. And claiming objectivity is certain evidence of a failure even to seriously try to be objective. A sincere effort at objectivity must start with an evaluation of your own incentives and motives - but to claim to actually be objective is to reject the very idea that you even have incentives or motives.
