OBAMA: WEALTHY IGNORE POVERTY BY SENDING KIDS TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS

During a conversation about poverty, President Obama said he was concerned that more wealthy people were separated from poverty because they chose to frequent private institutions instead of public ones.

“Part of what’s happened is, is that elites in a very mobile, globalized world are able to live together, away from folks who are not as wealthy, and so they feel less of a commitment to making those investments,” he explained during a panel discussion on poverty at Georgetown University today.

Obama criticized the free-market system in America for allowing higher concentrations of wealth to exist among the rich while the bottom percentage was being left behind and receiving a smaller portion of that wealth.

“Those who are doing better and better, more skilled, more educated, – luckier – having greater advantages are withdrawing from the commons,” he said. “Kids start going to private schools, kids start working out at private clubs instead of the public parks, an anti-government ideology then disinvests from those common goods and those things that draw us together.”

That led fewer people to care about public institutions, Obama explained, leading to government cuts to important public functions – making the nation less equal.

Obama insisted that there needed to be more investments in public schools, public universities, public early child education and public infrastructure, insisting that funding these organizations both “grows our economy and spreads it around.”

We have Family in MS. Many People there send their Kids to Private Schools. In fact, our Niece is a Teacher in a Private School.

These Parents aren’t Rich. They sacrifice having the Big House, the New Cars and the Luxurious Vacations to keep their Children Safe and to provide them a quality Education.

Why is this any of Obama’s business again? Oh that’s right, he is busy remaking America into a Liberal Wet Dream.

If I recall correctly, the Obama girls attend Sidwell Friends which is very expensive. If he wants to talk about this, he should pull them out of Sidwell and enroll them in public schools.

"Second, If I could afford it, it would be to get them away from the children who look, act, and think, as you do."

Well, it's not as if Harvard, Columbia, and Yale are teeming with conservatives.

That’s because he and the rest of our self-appointed elites don’t actually give a damn about “privilege” or “the common good” or any of the other false fronts they bleat about. This, along with almost everything else they do, is about getting everyone (except themselves) under the thumb of government and eventually global control.

Obastard was referring to the mostly private middle/high/Prep schools. Which I also can’t afford, let alone an Ivy League. I went to an Ivy League (Cornell). What it would cost to go there now is beyond what I have the resources to support. I worked for the university, and so was able to finance my education through a benefit as a university employee. Otherwise, I would have been S.O.L.

No, not ever! They started going to school, in Chicago, at Lab, which is a private, expensive day school. Now they go to Sidwell Friends and will most probably go to a private, elite college.

And he never went to anything but private schools and colleges.

and 65% of EVERY TAX DOLLAR goes to entitlements.

“He was selling crack on the corner while he was in private school.”

That’s what I don’t get, he wasn’t just a user. He must have been a dealer too. Probably hooked some other kids too.

Wealth is a state of mind. The money is merely a by-product.

Many wealthy people want their kids' minds to be developed in a similar manner, so they choose private schools for them.

It’s the people who’ve become wealthy through their connections to the government who are causing the problem.

Actually, they are HELPING the poor by privately paying for their own kids’ education while STILL paying property and other taxes into public schools.

Those who can afford it, get their children as far away from the “poor”, that Obama is whining about, as possible. Look at Baltimore and the other cities.

Obama did not send his dears to the DC schools. He’s such a liar. He just drips with deceit. Reminds me of the Chi-coms.

All politicians should be forced to send their children to public schools in their district.

That might get things moving in a better direction.

Of course, Obama’s kids go to private schools.
What a hypocrite.

I beg to differ! Those families are VERY rich. They may have tight budgets, but their lives are filled with riches.

;-)
