May 11, 2015 NFL Suspends Tom Brady, Punishes Patriots For "Deflategate"

The NFL announced Monday that it was suspending New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for his role in a scheme to deflate footballs used in last season's AFC championship game, a controversy that came to be known as "Deflategate."

In a statement released Monday afternoon, the league said the Super Bowl MVP "will be suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2015 regular season for conduct detrimental to the integrity of the NFL."

The league also fined the Patriots $1 million and took away two draft picks, including next years' first-round choice, "for the violation of the playing rules and the failure to cooperate in the subsequent investigation."

In addition, the NFL indefinitely suspended the two Patriots equipment staffers who carried out the plan, including one who called himself "The Deflator."

The punishment was imposed five days after a 243-page report prepared by league-appointed investigator Ted Wells said Brady "was at least generally aware" of plans by the team employees to prepare the balls to his liking, below the league-mandated minimum of 12.5 pounds per square inch.

No, he was lucky he didn't get suspended for a year for not cooperating with the NFL.

You miss the point!

They have been doing this for some time now, that is why the NFL was tipped about it from the Colts!

Since when is playing by the rules being 'politically correct'?

Kraft’s coach and QB are both busted for cheating, but he knows nothing!

Obviously, the Patriots had to have cheated, because they have so many players who are ..... like those awful Duke lacrosse players who raped that poor, single mother. Right?

“no network is going to hire him as a football analyst”

But Ray Lewis will always be able to find an analyst job. That’s what the NFL wants, not Tom Brady.

It depends on if the arbiter is another former Jets official as the one backing all this was.

The problem is that it is not just the Patriots, this who “deflation” of NFL footballs is very much a system-wide problem.

An inconvenient fact which the Patriots and their fans choose to ignore.

Aaron Rodgers was on Celebrity Jeopardy.

Actually he won, he did really wear that Mr. Rogers sweater though.

One of the other contestants was that a-hole astronaut who's married to Gabby "Look at me, I got shot (by a communist but the media never says that)" Giffords. Glad that prick didn't win.

“the world is crazy.”

Something good happened. I bitched publicly and less than 12 hours later, somebody did something right, something that they didn’t have to do.

Amazing how the squeaky wheel’s prayers gets the grease.

Every QB knows exactly what the weight of the football is he is using.

The weight of the ball doe not change...with air pressure, it is the firmness of the ball that changes...it either feels like a rock or you can squeeze it a little for a better grip...

graveyard calamities.

-sometimes people buy family cemetery plots and don’t tell anyone how many graves are there. And 83 years later, somebody in the family finds them when he goes to the cemetery office.
-by then, nobody was named beneficiary by previous generations.
-and then 20 something people all have to agree on who gets which graves and many people prefer just to leave them empty and wont go do the notarization on the 105-pages of paperwork.

and then one day, somebody miraculously says, “we’d be glad to sign whatever is necessary.”

That is why cemeteries are full of empty graves that nobody can use. Especially the Irish sections ... probably like in Chicago.

Excuse me, then the QB knows the exact feel of the ball.

No NFL QB is buying Brady's story.
