U.S. Muslims ask why their religion's condemnation of violence often goes unheard
Los Angeles Times ^ | 05/10/2015 | SARAH PARVINI

Saaliha Khan scrolled through her Facebook feed and pored over posts expressing sadness, dismay and disapproval, the kind of messages that always appear after an attack carried out in the name of Islam.

It was just past midnight on Monday, and two Muslim gunmen had been killed about six hours earlier in a shootout outside a controversial cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, which featured images of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

“If you want to defend the honor of the Prophet, do so in a way that is consistent with prophetic manners and ethics, not violence,” Omid Safi, director Duke University’s Islamic Studies Center, wrote less than 12 hours after the shooting.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations sent out an email: “Bigoted speech can never be an excuse for violence.”

But to Khan, the denunciations, though necessary and important, wouldn’t make a difference.

Indeed, among the Twitter messages flying through cyberspace after the failed attack was one radio personality Wayne DuPree sent to his more than 79,000 followers:

“Don’t expect @CAIRNational 2 care about Americans and condemn attack by terrorist thugs. Why are they here anyway #garland #garlandshooting.”

Uh, maybe because your "prophet" and your holy books say that it's OK to lie to infidels as a perfectly acceptable strategy for defeating them in your wars?

When groups like CAIR make such statements, you can be sure that their statements are intended to deceive, rather than being truthful expressions of their honest beliefs.

They may fool some, but plenty of people are on to their game.

Because your religion requires you to lie when it is an advantage to the furtherance of Islam. If Islam suddenly won as it has in areas of Syria and Iraq, would you still condemn the tenants of slavery and murder? I have a hard time believing it.

Because it's always inaudible?

Exactly. If The followers of Islam want peace, they must admit that the cult is evil and violent, they must rewrite it or denounce it. Short of that, they are part of the problem, they are the enemy of the civilized world and should be treated as such.

Yes, Islam is "reforming" back to its 8th Century roots.

U.S. Muslims ask why their religion’s condemnation of violence often goes unheard.

Because it is taqiyya. Islam was born in violence, and lives by the sword ... They just want Westerners to imagine Islam is an exotic version of Christianity ... like Protestantism is an exotic version of Catholicism - properly relaxed, and ripened for submission or the kill whichever is appropriate at the moment.

I can help answer their question:

Because their are enough Americans that can read and understand Arabic to know that what is said in English by Muslim groups is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from what is said in Arabic by those same groups.

It’s really that simple.

After 911, muslims all around the world, celebrated, danced in the streets, praised allah and handed out candy.

So-called moderate muslims in the US were smart enough to do their celebrating out of the sight of a large number of pissed off infidels, but you can bet our muslims are no different than muslims around the world.

So called ‘moderate Muslims’ are either irrelevant to the conversation or quietly supportive of the actions being discussed as long as it’s not their tribe, sect, or ‘hood’ doing such deeds. I believe they would openly support such practices once they achieve a position of power.

If he wasn’t practicing Taqiyya the proper verbiage would be “truth can never be an excuse for violence.”

Wow, an email. That’s a really powerful way to get your message out.

If so-called moderate muslims wanted to stop the violence they could do so rather quickly

It is muslims who can easily infiltrate the radical cells and turn the members over to authorities. Muslim leaders could supervise such infiltration and work with authorities in civilized countries to stop the violence.

Also, if muslim leaders taught non-violence in their schools and mosques the violence would lessen and eventually end.

None of the above is happening.

Words of condemnation are cheap fiction when/if not backed up with action. The doctrine of Islam permits lying to defend itself.

"Islamic doctrines of Shia Taqiyya (sanctioned lying) and Sunni Muruna (sanctioned deceitful speech and behavior) make it impossible to KNOW whether a Muslim is truly sincere in their rejection of violence. "

Yawn. These people encourage the violence, maybe not openly, but they encourage it.

What is about women who choose to be subjugated by a pseudo-religion?

Because, when they do comdemn violence, there is always a qualifier: “but he should not have insulted the prophet”, etc., or something like it.
