RUSH: So I was perusing the Drudge Report last night and I came across a fascinating link on the Drudge Report from TheHill.com. "Is Matt Drudge the Second Most Influential Man in America?" Obviously the president is implied as the most influential man. It is by Brent Budowsky, who is a columnist at The Hill, TheHill.com. He concludes that Drudge is the second most influential man in America and is unhappy about it. He doesn't like it, doesn't like the influence that Drudge has on shaping the news.

I don’t get it.
Drudge doesn’t investigate; he rarely even expresses an opinion; he doesn’t make or report news, and he definitely doesn’t make policy.
He merely links articles of other’s reportage, opinions etc. While his site is useful for people who want a quick summary of what is going on in the world, I rarely even go there, because I have already read the articles at their source.
I remember seeing Matt Drudge with his funny hat at the Free Republic March for Justice in 1998. Matt was off to the side, at the bottom of a hill. That now seems a long time ago.

Drudge should ditch the auto-refresh. I like the Drudge Report but find his page irritating to visit.

IMHO...I believe the liberal progressives despise the way he structures his headlines “above the fold”. That he posts on one subject for a few days and/or post headlines in red about various liberal scandals, about various liberals’ lack of transparency in all situations.
The liberals certainly bleat, gnash their teeth and pull their hair when Drudge follows up a story with linking another damaging article.
As a musician, I have many friends who lean Left. They’re mostly good guys, put not politically astute. One came over to help me with a computer problem, and he noticed that Drudge was on my address bar. He couldn’t believe that I would go to that racist’s Far Right site. I asked him if he’d ever gone there. “Of course not! I wouldn’t give him a hit.” I told him to click on the address. He did, reluctantly. He was extremely surprised! “This is not what I’ve read about him,” he told me. He still goes to Huffpo, but now he goes to Drudge too. I’m workin’ on him, and have hopes that he will wake up! I do know that he despises Hillary.
Here’s how you can stop page refreshment on the Drudge Report:
1. Open the http://www.drudgereport.com in your (Windows) browser.
2. Click on Tools Internet Options.
3. The Internet Options screen will appear.
4. Click on the Security tab.
5. Click on the Restricted sites icon from the Select a zone to view or change security settings field.
6. Click on the Sites button.
7. The Restricted sites screen will appear.
8. Make sure http://www.drudgereport.com appears in the Add this website to the zone field.
9. Click the Add button to add the page to your list of restricted sites in the Websites field.
10. Click the Close button to save your changes.

Yeah, maybe Rush should start wearing a funny hat, or maybe a green visor. Yeah, That’s the ticket.

Rush then goes on to explain how net neutrality will allow the government to limit Drudge so the MSM doesn’t have to divorce itself from the Left’s agenda.
He’s spot on about both pieces and the next election will determine that particular facet of the future....

Most people aren’t aware of the Articles you may read and they do not read them at the Source. The “Regular Folks” are not Political Junkies like the typical FR Poster.
You see, that is exactly what Drudge does, he provides Access to Articles, Opinions and Stories most People would not be aware of otherwise.
Why do you think Liberals hate The Drudge Report so much?
It’s very simple, it helps to Educate the Ignorant and they can’t have that if they want to succeed in their subterfuge.
