I did not vote or support Boehner or McConnell.

And that is one single example that blows your entire nonsense out of the water.

And what exactly is my "entire nonsese"? I asked a question and observed that you cannot know that what you assert is correct. It is an opinion, and you look ridiculous attacking people with your opinion. It's kind of boring, but I have seen so much of it, I chose to engage.

If you pinged your buddies for a dog pile, I'll probably just lie here. It ain't a big thing to me.

No dogpile needed. I ‘pinged my buddies’ because my ‘buddies’ and I have been discussing reality denial lately and yours is a prime example. Like how you deftly ignore my points and take off to wonderland.

You cannot tell me you were not in the lesser evil crew as I remember debating you several times over the last couple years about it. So yes, nonsense.

You got me mixed up with someone else. The “lesser of evils” is not an interesting topic to me.

My work here is done.

Well it may be done, but no, I don’t have you mixed up with anyone.

The issue at hand is how Romney would have governed as president. You look at his record and conclude he would have governed like his Massachusetts record. That is he became governor to implement the items listed in his record. I believe that he ran for governor to position himself for a presidential run. When he ran for the senate against Kennedy he was a “conservative” pro life, etc. years later when he ran for gov he became a pro abortionist and espoused views on the campaign quite left of center for a Pubbie. Indeed much of the record you list was driven by the Massachusetts legislature and in some cases the state Supreme Court. Should Romney resisted the left wing lunacy more? Of course. Would doing so significantly change his record, nope not in Mass. Where you see a closet Marxist running as a conservative, I see an individual whose principles go where the wind blows when they need to.

As to your points:

Job Growth / State Economic Output / Employment / Population Drop
Massachusetts is anti business, anti private property, pro tax, anti capitalist, anti American state. A Gov. In Mass on his own couldn't do anything about this. This is what the majority of people in Mass want. This is not Romney's fault.

As to Bush's tax cuts, rotten b@stard should have endorsed them.

As to item 1, gay marriage, Romney didn't create gay marriage in Mass. The state Supreme Court did. Followed by the legislature caving and the Gov signing. As is the case with most of America gay marriage was imposed by the courts federal or state.

As to Item 3, abortion, Romney flipped and flopped on this to get elected. To do so is shameful and rotten of him. As a practical matter it is irrelevant to the presidency since only the Supreme Court can legislate law in this country and set national policy and all the world must kowtow to them.

As to Item 4, Raising Taxes / Fees, Governors can't raise taxes legislatures do, even in Massachusetts.

Item 5, Implemented state level Cap and Trade governors implement state law passed by legislatures.

Item 6 Man Made Global Warming, boy was he soft headed about that.

Item 7 the Brady Bill, total foolishness on his part.

Item 8 Implemented AWB, governors implement laws passed by the legislature.

Item 9 supported TARP, lots of people did too at the time. Doesn't make it right but this is not malicious.

Items 10 & 11 Supported Illegal Alien Amnesty with you on this one. No excuse for it.

Item 12 Romney Care. Pure evil. However he said he was against a national version during the campaign. 50/50 chance he would have supported repeal.

Item 13 nominated majority of dim judges. Left wing lunatic state. Doesn't speak to what he would have done as President.

So, many of the bad policy you attribute to Romney more correctly lie with the state legislature, the state Supreme Court, and the over all political leaning of the state and its institutions. Romney's real failure was going along to get along, though the dim’s would have just rolled him if he resisted. He was a weak governor with no political base.

Regardless we are still left with personal speculation as to how Romney would have governed.

Based upon the above I believe Romney would have been far better that 0 on economic matters.

Probably better than 0 on taxes and budget.

Far better than 0 on national defense.

Probably better than 0 on abortion.

No worse than 0 on amnesty and probably slightly better.

Second Amendment no worse than 0 and probably better.

Judges better than 0. Certainly no Kagans and wise Latinas. Probably in the range of with us 40% of the time perhaps better if lucky.

Tyranny in office far better than 0.

Now the major intangible, balls. This is 0s hands down.

I conclude that Romney would have been far better than 0 for America. Especially because he follows the political wind which is blowing conservative at this time. Have a good weekend FReeper.

Although you did quite a job attempting to explain away Romney’s dismal liberal record, I’m afraid that’s all you’ve done. All the excuses and 20/20 hindsight in the world can’t erase or obscure the facts of Romney’s rotten performance as MA Governor.

His record is what it is, and it’s all we have to judge the man. Even after leaving office, he did next to nothing to support conservatives, or conservative causes. I well recall wondering why Romney was so conspicuously absent during the rise of the Tea Party. He never laid the first paving stone to a bridge to that community, which speaks volumes about what he really is.

But enough of Romney (Lib-MA). He was (and is) a complete waste of any conservative’s breath or brain cells.

Spot on with the tea party. Let’s waste no more time on Romney. Too many good candidates to think about!
