Fox & Friends had Geraldo Rivera on the show Friday morning to discuss Pamela Geller and the shooting incident outside her “Draw Muhammad” contest. As you might expect, given his recent comments, Rivera had a plethora of harsh things to say about the anti-Islam activist.
“She most reminds me of the Aryan Nation, KKK, racists,” he said. “I see them on television now and I feel like taking a shower.”
Tell us how you really feel.
“If Pamela Geller, if you put ‘Jew’ in there or ‘Irish’ in there or ‘black’ in there, any other groups, she would not be given the tolerance to spew her hateful rhetoric,” he continued. Naturally, the Fox & Friends hosts disagreed, trotting out the argument that, of course, such speech never justifies being targeted with violence.

I'm sure this is true for some, but I suspect the vast majority are ideologues first, and journalists second, especially in terms of large cities like New York or Los Angeles.
Likewise, it isn't just reporters who are the problem. As you indicated, the administration of these press agencies is heavily responsible for their hiring and staffing practices.
Conservatives simply do not have a voice in media markets where the American people can hear them. The places that have the viewers, are completely liberal, both in news and entertainment.
The entertainment industry is also a major propaganda agent for liberal thinking and policies. As has been mentioned earlier, you can't hardly turn on the television now without seeing a "gay this" or "gay that" incorporated into the show.

No amount of bathing can remove the yellow streak down Geraldo Rivera’s back. His brand of cowardice and yellow journalism permanently scarred his professional reputation.

I wish he would take a shower every time I see him.
Geraldo’s shtick is to be annoyingly wrong about 90% of the time, but satisfyingly right about 10% of the time. He’s found a ratio that works for him, where his general wrongness makes his occasional rightness somehow remarkable. Obviously he’s wrong in this case, and annoyingly so, but like clockwork he’ll be right about something fairly big in the next sixty to ninety days.
