Climate scientists with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are warning the Arctic may be ice free by the summer by 2040 due to global warming.
Scientists sounded the alarm on a Wednesday press call that comes after the north pole hit record low winter sea ice coverage in February. NOAA’s warning of an ice-free Arctic are consistent with warnings given by other researchers over the past few years.
Scientists warned that Arctic ice will melt faster as temperatures grow hotter, which they warn is harming the region’s ecology — zooplankton are losing fat content which could harm fish in the area that feed on these organisms.
Sounds alarming, but is an ice-free Arctic really something to worry about?

That "Ad council" drops a lot of dollars on production, and probably gets the airtime free because the spots they produce are probably treated as "PSAs." (Public Service Announcements).
I remember when PSAs, a legit nice thing for radios to provide, were real -- a public service announcement was that such and such church was having a rummage sale, or such and such non-profit blues society was having a concert. PSAs did a lot of good, could make or break the success of an event. Now they don't even have a chance against those slick pre-produced nanny-good-for-you "from the Ad Council" affronts to our dignity, as if we're too lame to get by without their nattering.
And worse, being forced to pay the script writers and voices and producers of those ads with our money, tax money.
The "Ad Council" needs to get cancelled.
“There is nothing more that I hate than a skinny zooplankton” could the zooplankton have less fat because they have become more active as the temps have warmed a bit, for whatever reason?
Wanna bet? I bet there will be more ice at the arctic than there is now. I make that bet based upon every prediction the warming clowns have made thus far.
These NOAA boys are wound up too tight. They need to visit reality from time to time.

Don’t ask me. I’m not a plankton. Warmer water might make for more activity and fat burn off, but I didn’t know that plankton had fat in the first place.
Ask Al Sharpton. He looks like a plankton with less fat, more head.

Decades ago, of course, Newsweek reported that Arctic ice was growing so quickly due to man-made “global cooling” that “scientists” were proposing to melt the polar ice cap using black soot. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed. More recently, “climate” guru Al Gore had been regularly predicting that the entire polar ice cap would be gone by now. Instead, it is now far more extensive than when he made his now-discredited predictions.
What a great thing you said! “Noaa used to be scientists. Now they are political scientists.” We must gut their funding and purge them of their propagandists. NOW!! Where are the republicans to cut that funding???
I ignore every thing the government says now. It is all political. It is all about control. It is all organized by liberals, communists, socialists, islamist, idealogues with no good intention for the United States.

An article by James Delingpole for The Telegraph reveals that the ideology of John Holdren, President Obama’s “science czar,” is even more extreme than many Americans may have realized before now.
...Junk science requires more junk science to perpetuate itself. That the folly of the eugenicists would be joined to that of the global warming hysteria is little surprise; a convenient crisis is always helpful when you are looking for a reason to “systematically attempt to prune” the human race, and it does not really matter very much whether the looming disaster of the 1970s — a manmade Ice Age — is suddenly exchanged for another convenient prop. Many of the adherents of the environmentalist ideology have regularly demonized anyone who even attempts to question the new religion of “global climate disruption”/global warming/manmade climate change; the “Climategate” revelations of several years ago exposed the public to the facts behind the “science” of global warming, and the way in which its critics were allegedly marginalized. As the ideologists continue losing their grasp on public opinion, it will be interesting to see how the model will change, once again, in service of the “challenge” of man’s future.

2.) It’s been 10 years since scientists predicted the “end of skiing” in Scotland.
3.) The Arctic would be “ice-free” by now.
4.) Environmentalists predicted the end of spring snowfall.
